The door is apparently enchanted. Yesterday, I've been back from an exploration trip, barely alive, and kept hearing the goddamn Enderman noise.

I open the door, see the Enderman standing a couple blocks away from the door, CUE THUNDER. A thunderstorm began this exact moment.

No, but I still had excessive quantities of things, along as my custom armor, swords, pickaxes, and other personal stuff I grew attached to.

Losing things is always frustrating, but at least your stuff didn't get taken by somebody else.
