I would love to, but I simply can't play, at least not for a week.

Well in that case I might take a turn since there's no one else on the list. Been quite a while since I took the reins here.

EDIT: Downloaded the save and wow that is a lot of Beakwolves. We eat well tonight.  :P

Hmm, I think we could shift a lot of the unhoused citizens into the caverns and make a second settlement down there composed of fungus farmers and miners. Would also be a good place to dig out a necropolis.

Other than some cleaning up of dead people and the invaders it looks like I can focus on expanding things, the basics have all been covered already.

Beak wolves may be considered unbutcherable, just a heads up.

In a human fort I've been playing we have a lot of Beak Wolf and Dark Strangler meat and leather. They count as animals since they can't speak.

Ah. Makes sense. I've just never had them processed outside of masterwork by whatever race I was playing as.

Could you please slap me on the list right after Grim Portent? I will actually have enough spare time.

I would like a turn please. I plan to have everyone permanently inebriated. This should end well.

We have so very many pigs in this town, has no one been slaughtering them?

Der Metzger has been humanized as the leader of the cavern squad. I'll have an update up later today.

EDIT: Update.

Journal of Grim

1st Granite
It has been four years since I stepped down from the position of leadership. Today I was told that Karkov has stepped down much as I did, though he leaves us with a great pack of beakwolves outside our walls.

My first duty is to dispatch these beasts so that our normal lives may resume. I am gathering the Iron Lances, the Spiked Revenge and Highmax's Axes to rid us of the animals.

3rd Granite
We have swept the field and driven the beakwolves before us in terror. Blood and limbs litter the field. I sense a deep feeling of satisfaction at this, almost as though it flows into me from without my own body.

9th Granite
The tavern has become clogged with swine, and their pigs are getting in the way too. I have ordered the animals be removed and placed near the east wall. We will need to butcher some and reduce the population.

13th Granite
I decided to get the engravers to smooth the rooms of our cavern guards. According to the paperwork their leader is one 'Der Metzger'. Odd name, but who am I to judge.

It is my intention to move some of our homeless population into the caverns. There is something in the deeps that calls to me. I want to find out what but we a foothold first.

6th Slate
One of our number was taken by a strange mood while gathering cut timber. He ran and took over the jewelers shop. My attention drawn to this area I noticed the madman sealed in the craftshop. I had the wall taken down and Splint and I put the poor soul down.

19th Slate
A group of travelers have come to join us. I had the majority assigned to a squad and issued our spare longswords. In time I intend to assign them to the underground.

23rd Slate
One of the miners has come to inform me that they struck warm stone, upon digging further they found a vast lake of magma. They claim to have seen a strange blue rock down there, one that gleamed blue. I have told them to try and dig towards it.

23rd Felsite
The man who claimed the jewelers went insane today, morosely talking about cloth.

Question for those in our military, who wants an adamantine weapon?

Depends on the risk. I'm sure we could all use something new and shiny and blue.

Of course, candy is shiny and useful, but it is not very humane to dig it. I'm leaving it up to you though.

I made it possible for humans to refine candy once I realised there were no dwarves to buy steel from, without a good weapons  grade material things would have been near impossible against the tougher enemies. None of which have arrived yet, but that's only a matter of time.

That's true. We had Pandashi on another continent, beak wolves and furies. Do we have anything else?

Minataurossi and White Tigermen I think. As I recall it was the tigermen that finished off the civ in worldgen.

The wereiguana that visited us in my turn/Splint's second turn was a white tigerman too.
