We've had both before. Look up SARS.

EDIT: I assume you're on about Spanish 'Flu. Healthcare wasn't as good back then, nor was quarantine AND the war helped spread it a lot more. Without the war it'd have been nowhere NEAR as deadly.

It also wasn't possible in 1918 for someone to travel anywhere in the world within twenty-four hours of setting out.
Be that as it may, what it comes down to is that flu is highly infectious and ebola just...isn't. I think it's severely irrational to go on and on about ebola then turn around and respond to the 50,000 dead Americans every year (and yes, that's just for America. Flu is a serious killer.) from influenza with "DO YOUR CHILDREN REALLY NEED THE FLU SHOT? WHAT THIS RADICAL DOCTOR AND PRIEST HAS DISCOVERED MAY SHOCK YOU!"

And the worst part is that I know somebody will respond to this with some shit about super-ebola wiping out humanity, when it's all a wash. Ebola has a high death rate, and that's it. It has no other significant factors. The boogieman is distracting people from what is actually a threat.

Ebola kills people painfully and suddenly so it's natural that it's going to get a lot of attention.

Well I never in my life got a flu shot and I'm still alive so any pro-vaccination argument is clearly just a neo-komunist propaganda by our lizard LGBT space liberals.

What the heck does a dog have to do with anything? Til dogs can get ebola.

Edit: Oh, just people being scared, which is understandable.

Definitely not the Militaire Sans Frontieres.

The first diagnosed Ebola patient in US has died
After, of course, taking the last dose of ZMapp in the world.

WAKE UP SHEEPLE
If everyone around you's immunized they won't get the flu and can't spread it to you.

Actually, isn't is possible for immunized people to carry viruses without actually suffering from the symptoms?

I don't remember where I heard that, so it might not be right.

That's not immunized. That's just being a carrier, you have to actually be infected and have the disease decide to be a bro to your body.
