I'm pretty much just going to construct a giant statue factory and run it until I get one of this guy. Do vampires ever attack your fort like forgotten beasts, or are they just an immigrant thing?

You know, that and the fact that when his subjects became suspicious of him he laid down some oppressive edicts for 66 years.

While I like that he punished his subjects for daring to question his rule with oppressive edicts, there really have been much more fantastic vampires posted, some with kill counts in the multiples of thousands, and who have seen whole nations rise and fall.

This guy certainly has potential, but much more interesting vamps have been posted. (Like ones married to night creatures, and who are also necromancers, etc.)

Sadly, no.

Most have been offhand remarks in threads about other things, mentioning their WTF inducing vampire monarchy. I DO remember there being a combination of a necromancer vampire night creature spouse king at one point, that had over 500 dwarf kills.

You can probably find such interesting...people.. if you turn up #curses, #secrets, and #nightcreature types before worldgen, and then let it spin all night for a 10,000 year history.

I had a cave fish man vampire show up as my human liaison once. Bastard drained one of my haulers while waiting for the baron, and I couldn't convict him because he wasn't part of the civilization. Diplomatic immunity, I guess.

I also had a fairly epic vampire queen in a world I genned a few months ago. Something like 15000 kills, which of course isn't hard for a vampire; but she was the daughter of a noble (the general, I think?) who went AWOL in the middle of a war to pursue the secrets of life and death. She took over his position and had some success, until she gave up the position to join a cult, which of course is where she was cursed. Apparently somewhere in the course of moving from settlement to settlement someone recognized her as the badass former general and they gave her the crown, only to learn shortly afterwards that they had made a horrible mistake...

I should still have that save around here somewhere. If y'all are interested I could see about looking for it.

I think two of the three kings of the world I'm using right now have been a necromancer (who ascended in I think 61, presumably taking over from the only normal king) who was later overthrown by a vampire who has ruled for the last few hundred years. I plan to get him as soon as dwarvenly possible.

Why that is certainly possible. By chopping him to bits with an axe. Or a sword. Or shooting him, skewering him with a spear, beating his head in with a blunt instrument...
