Yes, because teaching Koro how to be hated by every person in the town is such a good idea.

Hey Gerv, that was sarcasm.

I am all for this rat catching business thing. Koro would learn to control his magic better, make a buck, and he would raise morale of the city.He should also learn to fight, so his father can be proud.

His father was a kidnapping rapist. Funny how you all seem to forget that.

That was kind of uncalled for. Good stories often have mature and occassionally heartbreaking or horrifying content. It's perfectly fine to have a story with genuinely evil characters, otherwise villains would suck. It's not even like we ourselves are playing an evil character, which this community has done on more than one occassion.

That said it's also fine to find a story unpalatable, i've put down a book with a scene that made my stomach queasy before, but that does not make those who partake in such stories any less for it, nor does that mean the writer of such stories is somehow outside of his rights to craft an interesting if dark narrarative.

Yes, and as a consequence a hero put him to death. It's not like he just sailed into the sunset scott free.

Have you been waiting all this time just to say this? Having rape in a story doesn't make it bad automatically. While some people can understandably just not want to hear anything about it, I'm sure some people would say that about stories where someone was stabbed to death, for instance. Basically, if it's not your thing, you can just leave it alone. We don't judge you for not wanting it in your stories. Don't judge us for allowing it to be.

---

Re-railing, I don't think employing Koro as a ratcatcher is the most productive use of time. Keep him out hunting with the dwarven boys and teaching us magic. Talk to him about how it is important to show concern for others, and to be a decent person.

Explain it to Meryln, but stress it isn't our idea, and we are being blackmailed in to it. Don't reveal how we're being blackmailed, and if she asks, just say you'd rather it's your secret alone.

As always, my stance on it is 'if you're going to include it, do it right'. That's all I'm going to say.

Now. Can someone PLEASE explain how the fuck I can get a thread off my 'New Replies' thing?

...Why were you watching this, just to make comments like this?
No, we didn't forget. It's just that the subject of Koro's biological father hasn't come up a lot. Because he was killed by Koro's adoptive father. Who is probably who Detox was talking about.

As always, my stance on it is 'if you're going to include it, do it right'. That's all I'm going to say.
What's "doing it right"? I'd say that "let the reader fill in the blanks if they so desire" is a perfectly acceptable way to do it.

THIS is what ive been aiming to get Koro. We need money and looking for pearls isn't always profitable. Besides it could *koro find enough fish for both of us to eat and then goes to said granary to get his safe paycheck.

Even if it's small it'll add up.

Because driving off rats is not going to lead to a bored son with more anger at his mother...
