(Although I am fairly busy of late, I have found that whatever free time I get comes in the 45 minute to 1 and a half hour blocks that are perfect for running suggestion games, therefore I have decided to start a new one. Can't speak to how often it will be updated or how long it will last at this point though...)

In the human empire, it is said that the woman's place is in the home. They are married off rather young, have little say as to who their husband is to be, and generally live quiet lives. You had always aimed to be an exception to that last bit, and as luck would have it you find yourself in a position to pursue your ambitions.

The man you married is an adventurer of some acclaim. Because his type travels alot you are likely to have plenty of time to pursue your own ambitions unsupervised in the house he received as a wedding gift. You could easily peruse wealth and power of your own, or support your husband by looking after his interests in town while he is away and becoming the (wo)man behind the man...

Consolation Prize: The Prince offered his eldest daughter's hand to whomever could present to him the head of the gnoll commander who once terrorized his land. When your lowborn husband to be was the one to do so the prince went back on his words and gave him you, his younger brother's bastard daughter, instead. Although your birth doesn't directly place you in any sort of line of succession, your parentage could easily lend legitimacy to the efforts of your husband and yourself. You start with a larger and better stocked house, two servants, and high society social skills that may or may not serve you well in the small town you have settled.

Distressed Damsel: When the local monster took you prisoner at the age of 9, your parents believed you dead. You might have been better off if they had been correct in their guess. Instead the beast kept you for companionship for over a decade. You suffered greatly, but eventually a savior arrived who not only slew your captor, but also agreed to marry you and adopt your child. You start with a few innate abilities and resistances as a side effect of your prolonged exposure to a monster* and a half monster child*.

Childhood Crush: You were your eventual husband's best friend in childhood, and first sweetheart when you both began to mature. When he began to travel you tagged along as part of his adventuring party for several years during which the two of you became serious lovers. After you experienced a few close scrapes with death, he declared that he couldn't stand to see you hurt, and the two of you decided that it would be best if you retired, properly married him, and kept a house in your mutual hometown. You start play with some useful skills from your day's as and adventurer* and great chemistry with your husband's adventure party.

Daddies' Little Girl: Your father is a successful businessman in his field*, and you would help him out with his trade from time to time. It was through your father's work that you first encountered one of his regular customers: a wandering adventurer who you quickly became much more than friends with. When your father found out about the relationship he 'strongly encouraged' the man to marry you. You enter play with some skills relating to your father's trade* and a large quirky family that may either help or hinder your efforts.

Ambitious as Hell: You always wanted more out of life, and have an uncanny drive to obtain your desires. When you reached the age at which a woman could wed you smuggled your little brother out of the house and sold him off as parts to a hag in exchange for life advice and some lessons in the supernatural arts. Deciding you wanted a husband who would remain out of your way for the most part, you slipped a love potion into a wandering adventurer's drink and let nature run its course. You were married within a week. You enter play with knowledge of alchemy, and knowledge relating to one school of spell magic.*

Crab Port: The northernmost town in the human empire. Crab Port is home to a large fishing industry, and houses the Dwarven Embassy.

Freshlands: Freshlands is a quiet temperate farming village known for it's legendary produce and fine wine.

Oak Acres: Oak Acres sits on the edge of the woods. It is home to substantial logging industry and the elven Embassy.

Dread Door: Dread Door is home to thieves, black mages, halfbreeds, and other undesirables. It sits on the entrance to the grand catacombs, where the dead of the old empire still walk from time to time.

Spear Point: Spear Point is home to the wives and families of the soldiers who man the nearby Underfort and keep subteranian threats at bay.

World's Edge: A trading town that sits deep in the desert and does business with the mysterious beast-men tribes.

Savagery: Although it bears the flag of the human empire, Savagery exists deep in the swampy Orc territory and the people there provide the greenskins proper steel weaponry in exchange for protection.

Soul Peak: Soul Peak sits 1/4th the way up of the towering peak of the same name and is considered a place of worship and reflection by almost every human religion.

Despite the disturbing implications, I think I very much like the potential narrarative of being a former "distressed damsel", at Spearpoint.

There's potential there in the monsters. If our monster "companion" were a GCS, for example. Or a forgotten beast. That would be more interesting that a simple "beastman" from the World's Edge. But the "living in the fort" part of Sperpoint seems dull. A frontier town on the edge of civilization has a lot more potential for us to run amok in than a heavily guarded fort.

I like it because it allows our character (and child) to live in two worlds completely alien to eachother, and maybe bridge the gap between the two. Honestly i'm more interested in the subteranean civilisation/creatures though.
