Every time I see a new post is made by Mlamlah here is like its own miniature Christmas: bringing hope and happiness in an otherwise unassuming and unimportant day.

EDIT: I still want to know the status of Raynor's facial hair. Also, sometime this year or next we should get a dog an perhaps start doing more 'hands-on' things like bandit-hunting and travelling and maybe even a short ocean voyage; that way, we can make a killing when we're older and we right a book about a golden-haired, 13 year old-ish youth and his magical, talking dog who go on adventures, rescuing princesses, and battling against the evil ice king (and if we decide to make sequels, we could start dropping hints at a far greater, more menacing evil). We can say we were inspired by our own endeavours when we were about the hero's age.

Yes to the first:

As to the edit: Yeah maybe we'll get lucky and father will give us some land so that we may start our own little adventures. It'll probably be easy to get skilled commoners since we have some allies/promises at court (or are those for when we come of age?) that can help us build up a village to a small city like in Maldaveius's lordship old S.G. Also no to Golden Retriever, we need a good attack dog with really good hearing. The kind of dog that'll be loyal to us, energetic, and be able to hear suspicious people breathe and walk around us. Something we could ask mother about. It won't make us look weak since we'll be seen training and playing with our little pet.

Idea: Also i was thinking maybe we could get Malesha to build us a Ranger unit just like in Maldaveiuous game also. Think about it "The Black Rangers" led by the mysterious colonel Blackquill (her alias to keep her from being discovered/assassinated) build a fort in Sir Raymonds land. Why? Well one reason is to help train and advice Sir Raymond on military affairs, another because his lords are paying for the Ranger fort there, and another is to patrol the area and cleanse it from bandits an Easteners. During a real war we'll mobilise our rangers to join us as scouts. They are NOT to be part of the SMMC but will be there own retinue force under us. Basically instead of being led by Captain Verack they'll be led by Malesha in secret since women can't lead openly.

Doing so would not only help us build cred but we could get her father to support us more/ let us do what we want. It's all kinda far fetched but..well open minded right?

Raynor Casar, Royal Prince of Analysse, popular claimant on the future crown.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

On a last sleepy morning the party prepares to leave, and it is quite a party indeed. So large and important is the group bound for Koringberg, that Prince Penrod and your father both have assembled both a Vanguard and Reargaurd. Both of these forces include a score of Knights and their squires, half of them Analyssian and the other half Adalbertian, trailing behind the Knights of the Vangaurd will be a half-hundred Halberdiers, with an equal number of archers in the reargaurd. Though no trouble is expected on the road you are sure that both your father and the foreign prince wish to make a show of force and solidarity to whoever may be watching.

The travelling party itself is enormous, including not only the Adalbertians who came with Penrod for the wedding, but also a great variety of Analyssian servants, courtiers and gaurds, not a small portion of which have been invited by you. The silver-moon company will travel at the rear of the main party, but well before the rear-gaurd. Also present are the Keshlan merchants seeking to scout out potential mercenaries at Koringberg. One of them, is a bright cheerful fellow named Gobind who's agreed to help you learn his language. Also coming with them is their military man, Drupada, and with him six gaurds. Drupada seems a grim sort of man, silent and still, he wears a curved blade and rarely seems to dismount his horse even when others stop to rest. The gaurds he's brought have brought good equipment, expensive even, but they seem unsure and nervous, hardly experienced warriors.

Your own party is a mix of young important courtiers, their bodygaurds and chaperones. Most of which are young men who stand to inherit minor titles, and have latched onto you out of loyalty or ambition or sycophancy. A few though are already shaping up to be able diplomats and thinkers, and have been invited by you not because of their inheritance, but their competence. Out of your companions, Isvan is probably the lowest in standing, but the closest to a real friend. Despite your charisma and social standing, thinking on it you've very few true friends indeed. The diplomatic proceedings and gossip of Court is hardly the greatest of places in fostering relationships, and except for that you've mostly kept to study and the pursuit of high ambition, you havn't decided wether that's something you want to rectify or not.
Vukhara, the daughter of Sekhon tends to keep to the company of her servants, one is a man who your servants seem to believe is a eunuch, and another a girl younger than she is. Malehsa curiously, wears a blade prominently displayed at her side along with functional travelling clothes and a minimum of servants, it would also seem that her bodygaurd is also her personal tutor. Ariala takes every oppurtunity to show off her blossoming magic skills, and she is capable of a number of rather interesting tricks. Once she turns the shirt of an over-bold courtier into a set of neatly folded handkerchiefs.

...

The trip itself begins uneventfully, excepting the fanfare and pageantry of the affair, which is expected. Penrod in large part keeps to himself, keeping the company of his Knights and new wife. On that first few days of the trip you too are kept engaged by the companions you invited, and manage to get little of anything accomplished. You have your own personal carriage provided by your father, along with your usual palace servants. You've brought your horse as well as your armour, weapons and fine attire. Barick though, you've left behind and put your finances in the hands of your mother and her accountant, to ensure your money might be used, but not misused. You've a journey ahead of you, companions beside you, and home behind you.

Chat with our court allies and Gobind. With Gobind we should learn as much Keshlan as possible. As well as find out more about his country.

General Travel Schedule:

Mornings: Host breakfast/Keshlan lessons in our carriage with Gorbind, and anybody willing to attend and learn. If demand is greater than space avaible, prioritize family, court allies, and the women we have invited along.

Afternoons: Lunch with Penrod and Ritillia, if they are available. Work on building up a strong relationship with our brother-in-law.

On days when they are not available, lunch with our brothers instead. His step mother might be a pain in the butt, or even out to kill us, our half still seems reasonable enough. Assure him, as needed, that although you aspire for the throne, you would never harm him to get it, and if the crown does end up on his head, that you would serve him loyally in whatever fashion he might need you. At the same time, talk politics with him in a fashion that is likely to leave him overwhelmed and go over his head, perhaps frightening him off the subject and tempering his ambitions to a degree.

Let William control the flow of conversation when dining with him alone; It would be interesting to see what is on his mind.

Evenings: Combat pratice/training/drills. Between Verack, Malehsa, and our half brother we should suffer no lack of people to teach us combat skills, and perhaps even various military leadership and tactical skills. Don't forget to talk to and get to know whoever happens to be training us...

Nights: Just before bed, keep your scrying skills sharp, and perhaps learn some juicy secrets, by spying on your fellow travelers for 30 minutes or so. Don't challenge any wards you think are likely to alert the warded, but don't hesitate to challenge any ward you don't suspect to be alarmed.

Also, we should test the trustworthiness of Ariala and each of the fire-mage/apprentices in the Silver Moon Company by making up some juicy rumors for them, and instructing them to keep what you have said secret. If we find them trustworthy, we should, at some point, confide our own magical training with them, and invite them to train with us in secret when we travel back with a much smaller group. I vaguely remember Vukhara was some sort of mage as well, so might as well test her also.

Better ideas here. +1.

Is it possible we could scry more specifically our half brother? Maybe we can catch what he's like talking to someone else. Or what he does alone...An any opportunities to expose any thing very damaging.

Might as well. I don't, however, want to hurt him or his reputation unless we absolutely must. Never hurts to have ammo to use when we want though.

If we could harm, slander, or even kill his mother in a way so that it couldn't be traced back to us, I'd strongly consider that, but from what we know of him, he lacks our political savvy, so although he would would stand to gain from our losing the crown, there is no way that he will be one personally engineering that loss.

In the long run, Once we secure the title of crown prince for ourself, our half brother could be a great asset if we manage not to alienate him in the meantime. We will do what we must regarding hostile actions against him, but only when it is clear that it must be done.

*inhale* *exhale* Ok let's do this.

It'll probably be easy to get skilled commoners since we have some allies/promises at court (or are those for when we come of age?) that can help us build up a village to a small city like in Maldaveius's lordship old S.G. Also no to Golden Retriever, we need a good attack dog with really good hearing.
Firstly, we should probably get our own personal fief but we ought to test the waters before we actually use it for any major plans. Secondly, I never ever mentioned a golden retriever. I mentioned that we should get a dog, that the hero in our utterly original and inspired novel should have yellow hair, and that that hero's dog should be magical and talking, but I never mentioned the colour or breed of the dog we should get "IRL" or the novel.

Malesha
Malehsa.

Why? You know, it's very lucky that I'd recently started reading Lordship, or otherwise I'd have no idea what you're talking about. But I have; so I do. I agree with the plan and I think we should pursue it but I doubt that it would win a great deal of favour with the king.

Keshlan
Kelshan.

General Travel Schedule:

Mornings: Host breakfast/Keshlan lessons in our carriage with Gorbind, and anybody willing to attend and learn. If demand is greater than space avaible, prioritize family, court allies, and the women we have invited along. Let's keep him exclusive to us. That way he can focus on teaching us rather than a bunch of people.

Let William control the flow of conversation when dining with him alone; It would be interesting to see what is on his mind.

^^ Basically all this, but in reverse priority; we talk to Eric and then William and if they're unoccupied we chat with Penrod and Ritalia. We've pretty much solidified our relationship with those two and more talk probably won't get us anywhere. Talking with Eric and William on the other hand would be very advantageous: increasing our relations with Eric will make it more likely that he'll side with us on issues and less likely that he'll betray us at some point; Talking with William will let us piece this background dark magic ghost conspiracy thing together.
On a final footnote we should avoid telling Eric about how we'll support him for the throne or whatever. We REALLY don't want ideas getting into his head. Let's just chill with him and be brothers.

I've added some suggestions to this schedule.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
You put in your own writing in his quote and you may want to fix that. That's a pretty good idea about scrying on our brother though.

Might as well. I don't, however, want to hurt him or his reputation unless we absolutely must. Never hurts to have ammo to use when we want though.

I think attacking the Concubine would be a bad idea at this stage and should probably hold off on considering it until we get more intel and a proper motive for doing so.

I've added some suggestions to this schedule.

Unless something happens to Vukhara, or we suffer a falling out with our father, we have all the time in the world to learn the language from her at our own pace later. It would be nice to know more now, but not essential, and I think having some of the young nobles at court who intend to support us speak Keshlan might serve us well if our agenda involves messing in Keshlan affairs.

It is also a chance to get closer to whatever people also happen to show up to the lessons on any given day.

Beyond that, fair point on all your other suggestions, so long as we don't neglect Penrod too much. He is supposedly intelligent and savvy, so the way I see it, we have no way of ever knowing if he cruelly sees us as Kin, or merely as a pawn to use in the royal court of Analysse as he sees fit. The more time we spend with him, the more chances we have to get a glimpse of what he truly thinks... It is also worth noting that we will get more chances to chat with Eric and Will moving foward, but we will run into Penrod and our sister on a far less frequent basis. That said, I still think the points you raised are fair.

I'm kinda backtracking but now that i think about it we REALLY shouldn't promise something so grandly to our brother Eric. One he dosen't deserve it and Two it could make us look weak. I know i'm chaning my mind quickly but yeah. Also see if we can host a quick chess game with Malesha. If we can outwit her than we should be able to outwit our brother Eric. Which says alot about what's in our heads.

EDIT: Maybe we should ask our brother in private when we talk about the black magic incident and/or his new career path of being a warden mage. This is William btw not Eric.
