Card Hunter has finally gone live! Woohoo!

For those who haven't heard of it, it's a fun cross between a tactical RPG and a card game.


(Sorry about the low resolution, that's taken on my 1024x600 netbook)

The game's free but there's some things you can spend real money on (additional adventures, new skins, club membership which brings a little more random loot). None of it is really necessary though and you can enjoy the game fully without spending anything.

Friend of mine told me about this today. Been a lot of fun so far. This is one of those few games I might actually pay for, but $25 is quite a hefty price. If it were $5-$10, I would've bought the starter pack already.

Also it is just me or do elves suck?

Well, in more cramped fights you're usually better off with the extra health of dwarves.

There are also fights where you really want to keep your distance (heavy hitters, zombies that stun you) or where you need to catch up with ranged foes (like imps). In those fights the better movement of elves is a good thing.

But you can pretty much pick whatever suits your playing style.

Honestly though... It seems like Dwarves are just better overall.

Even if you want to keep your distance the elves are not spectacular at it.

Elves are maybe ok for nuking, but eh, I'd rather have the human traits over the movement traits. Movement seems really nerfed... seems to be better just to stand your ground and smack through stuff, or stand behind a tank if you have ranged attacks.

Dwarves can get pretty damn slow unless you have some boots to cover up for that. The extra HP is still good for tanking, but for ranged (mages) and support (healers) I think the slight movement bonus helps more. A dwarf mage is still really scary because you're up against a guy who isn't afraid to do those cone damage stuff at close range.
