ANIME CRAZY!

Never before has an RPG so accurately related the anime storylines and dynamics. Characters seemingly ripped directly from your favorite show and displayed in all their splendiferousness.

Story:

In the world of Anime Crazy you play as the Teen "Loser McAwesome" as he becomes the only one capable of saving the world. After his homework is done that is. A mysterious girl suddenly joins his class that changes his life forever who harbors a secret crush, but wait! His lifelong friend also harbors a secret crush!

Characters:

Loser McAwesome:
Your standard loser character. He cannot do anything right and people will constantly and repeatedly mention this. He is clumsy and often says the wrong thing. Yet whenever it counts he will always pull through and pull even greater powers out of his butt.

Mysterious girl
A quiet softspoken yet beautiful girl who falls in love with our protagonist yet is too shy to ever tell him. After saving the Loser he vows to never allow her to lose her femininity and thus she vows never to hurt anyone again. Thus she only supports him from afar but messes up often because she is shy. She is also so honest that she will constantly bad mouth the protagonist with unintentional insults.
-She can heal but only has a 50% chance of ever successfully doing so because she is shy.

Tsundere Girl
A loud yet beautiful girl who falls in love with our protagonist yet is too shy to ever tell him. She yells and hits things a lot but secretly wants to be respected as a woman and will constantly take it out on our protagonist by beating him to a pulp often.
-She can attack but all her attacks also hurts Loser.

Smug Guy
The smug guy, he constantly belittles our protagonist. He is so much better and more powerful then the protagonist that he will not do anything and blame all the issues on him.
-He does nothing but stand there and be smug

The actual important one
He has character development and is genuinely tied to the plot and is foremost interested in advancing it. Thus he will be shoved WAY too the side where he cannot do any harm to the character dynamics.
-He will not participate. That would actually interfere with the crazy hijinks of our protagonists.

------

Honestly that is the most basic of basic sum ups. Mostly this was going to be an RPG that was such a parody that it came off as an outright satire of bad anime. I chose not to go through with it mostly because these are one of those ideas that seem good while you are thinking about it.

I mean the fact that characters are either unhelpful or detrimental to you was outright intentional in an attempt to annoy the player. In fact one of the OUTRIGHT goals for one of the boss fights was to have the Tsundere beat up the protagonist and thus start the fight at 1hp.

As well the story was supposed to play out where there is a wider more important story about the main character needing to master these mystical powers and prevent evil from reigning down upon everyone... but ultimately that doesn't actually happen in the game, they are instead entirely side plots about the love triangle between the main characters. Where character development is quickly thrown out for the status quo and the plot tries as hard as it can NEVER to advance even to the extent that it will retcon or introduce new elements specifically to restore it. It will also reuse plots and whenever something important is brought up it is rightfully ignored.

Not to mention the inconsistencies with what happens and how the characters act was also going to be something that was going to be played off of. The fact that the protagonist is actually more powerful then the "smug guy" yet is never given credit for being so is fully intended. He will be blamed for being insensitive and annoying and yet be very insightful in conversation.

Yet after thinking everything over, this came off as just outright mean spirited and likely something that wouldn't be appreciated by the target audience even as a farce. As the intended goal is just to annoy the player, it is meant to be annoying. Which can work, but I by far lack the skill to actually convey it in such a way that the player would enjoy the frustration. It requires a lot of skill and talent to actually pull off.

I just posted it here because I thought it would be interesting for some of you. Also feel free to comment.
