Sounds like your word list included a booby trap!
"So what's beyond that door behind you?"
Actions!
((Yes, I'm rather afraid of my spell book.))

"Awesome! This is better than what I was expecting! Oh, the door? Just a bunch of metal mushrooms. I came from some room with a big crystal that shocked me and knocked me out, I wouldn't recommend checking it out, highly overrated. Also, there's some more doors I haven't checked yet."

Aurora shrieks upon burning her hand. After she quieted down, she looks at Shade once more and says the same words.

"Well that was certainly bizarre."

Try to make another spear, using same words as last time.

"Let's see if I can't make one for you, two people with spears are better than one, after all."

"Fair enough.  I can make daggers and chainmail, but I unless you like wood, lightning, or gold armor, they're not much use."

Try something else.

At this rate we're going to find out what happens when you get ten Contamination.

Nothing special, actually. I'm thinking I need to increase the penalties for contamination, cause as it is, you need to get well past ten, or stay at ten-ish for several turns to really have bad stuff happen. Unless you're super unlucky, of course.

Aurora leaves the room, then focuses on removing contamination.

((Yeah, contam is pretty much a non-issue right now unless you're going crazy with magic.))

"That's... interesting.  Well, I'll take that!"

Loot the new dagger.  Do some magic.
