A shadow falls over all those present. A vast, dark shadow, cast by a looming, towered shape.
Looking up, a massive form, like a cross between a tortoise, a citadel and a Colossus. Tiny shapes swarm around it, each a vast bird.
The vast maw opens, and a terrifying roar sounds forth.

Partially overenthusiasm, partially because controlling a giant fucking Fortress Tortoise is pretty hard otherwise.

He couldn't make a way for him to get out? It's a basic rule of vehicle/giant-robot safety that you always have a way out in case something goes wrong.

Of course there's a way to get out. It just takes a while. And leaves Packbit free to wander off or whatever. Plus it lowers Alex's already-tenous control over the Harvester Birds. So yeah. This whole "Divine Pact" thing might have some bad side effects. Still, that's what happens when you hurt/kill Alex's children.

Packbit is a Fortress Tortoise. It wasn't a giant monster when Alex first made it, it just grew.
