Actually we have a single glob of Dwarf Tallow.

My God.
Haaaa, I say we are indeed messed up if we have dwarf tallow... We shall make a shrine for it in the dwarfs of hell for God Morduk.

Guys, this is...

This is beyond my skill level. I can't do this.
I'm forefeiting my turn. I tried like ten times, and always my fortress gets massacred if I do anything.
And if I don't all the dorfs die from sickness.

Can't.
Just can't.
So much blood. Rot. Vomit. It's everywhere...
FUCKIN' EVERYWHERE!

If no one minds I'll try and get it back on track? No fancy write up, just the facts and a years work. I have two other succession things going on.

I'm up for it. It would be a shame for the fortress to go to hell after everything it's been through. In case it does, I only ask that you close the fortress gates so we can reclaim in peace. Sorry for fucking up the fortress.

Don't be silly. Something this messed up requires multiple forms of insanity. If all that crazy were in you, none of us would exist. You would have killed us all. And then perhaps had a drink of ale before finishing yourself off as well. Maybe a pancake too. Because even if the world ends, pancakes are still delicious!

You do have a point. But I think the result would be me sucking entire existence into myself and turning into a Void God. Afterward I would revive you all as my seconds. But since that didn't happen you have to be right.

Exactly. It is possible for you to learn Dwarven Science yet, young scholar.

Is there any lever connected to the main gates? I see they are raised/retracted appropriately, but the levers I remember controlling them seem to have disappeared, and there are new (Unlabeled!) ones at random places.

Sorry. I didn't label when i remade them. You can try and guess which one it is, but here is the answer if you don't feel like risking it having fun.

Boar giving off smell is running about.
Boar died.
Trying to make a base of regrowth in food stockpile.
Highmax died.
Made extra room. Dug down into palace chambers, locked their doors. Dwarves are in relative comfort.
Butchered the stinking animals.
Elves came. Standing doing nothing at edge of map.
Put two ghosts to rest.
Dug down to caverns, need the plants for booze. Lots of food; butchered animals. Walled off entrance to rest of fort…only one access now.
Migrants. All hideously killed by gobbos.
Ambush killed elves.
Named myself. Hail Th4DwArfY1, Legendary Engraver!
16 Dwarves left.
Forgotten Beast, made of charcoal. Spits webs. Came to say hi!
More migrants. FB in deeps. Came in through door. Killed a wolf, wrestling with a grizzly. Trying to wall in our refuge.
Migrants being attacked. Levers outside the walls in FB land. Just managed to release the thrall in Trade Depot on gobbos. Hopefully !!FUN!! will ensue.
Thrall owned them. All fled. Migrants dead, though.
Thrall went back into Trade Depot, so closed the gate behind him. Perhaps he shall do it each time, and we will have a
Dug tunnel to levers for entrance. Walled area off. Now separate from FB.
FB still fights bear
Made new entrance for migrants. Blocked with bridge.
Human caravan came, then left.
Migrants got in (At last!) through the new entrance. 6 new Dwarves.
Bear now holds off TWO forgotten beasts. With new migrants, retaking the fortress. Cleaning operation begun. Flooring off the stair above the Bear and its rivals, so they shall fight for eternity.
Lye maker has fey mood.
Claims jewellers shop.
My dorf makes a hatchcover and carries it down, fixing it on the last stair on the bottom. No more threat from FB scourge.
Population released back onto the Fortress, no need to hide in the bolt hole. Now have 22 Dwarves.
Two Grizzly Bears now fighting two Forgotten Beasts. Doing damned well, too. The first FB is in bad shape, and the original bear is hardly hurt. Damn, they’re good bears. The second FB is nearly dead-EVERYTHING is injured. The bears are even working under an FB induced Fever.
Fey mooder made a figurine of dwarves made of smoky quartz
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
THE CHEESE IS COMING!
The new comer bear died to the new FB. However, original bear continues to fight…A king amongst bears! Not even a war bear…if this thing survives/wins, I shall train the beast!
Bear…died. FB kicked it in the head, propelling it through the air and smashing against a wall.
Child gets mood. Needs shells. We have no shells.

Will post save in a bit. The fort is not thriving, but it is doing well. I just put them in a new-made confinement, then released them when mirants came. They cleaned up the now non-smelly corpses, and are currently settling in.

So, I assume it is now Sheaim's turn?

Sheaim, go ahead and take your turn. It's not a shame to gave up. Even us, DF players, creatures of chaos, have their limits when it comes to overwhelming dwarfiness.

I know, it was a good turn. A lot of interesting stuff happened. If I'd had the time  could have written a bit of story about the bear, but oh well. I was too busy working on Necrothreat II, as I'm sure Highmax can tell you  :P
