7 Days to Die lets play - suggestion game - Update 3

Pretty new game, just finished a successful Kickstarter, alpha access opened for around 20,000 or so people who wanted in.  I decided that I wanted to do a lets play about my character's (characters'?) stories, assuming one even lives long enough to really have a story. 

Failing that, ignominious deaths are always the most fun, aren't they?

Find shelter.

Hole up in the attic.

Figure out which houses will be the safest and will most likely have food. Also. Make sure there aren't any deadly things in your area.

Find a weapon - even if its a big stick. There is no point having somewhere to hole up if you cannot defend yourself.

I thought one of the prime reason for holing up was because you lacked the ability to defend yourself properly?  ???

Anyway, I support looking for a weapon, a big stick seems most realistic. But I also suggest go check out that brown thing on the minimap, if its a house/shack it may work as a temporary base and possibly have a weapon of shorts or other supplies.

And keep an eye out for berries or other easy food, apparently we got easy access to water at the moment, so that is good (unless its irradiated or something?), but we need food.

And stay away from the zombies. You probably don't want to tangle with them bare handed. Sneak around if you can, run if you can't, fight if you must.

They decided to leave my fortress via the circus because the front door was locked to keep Goblins out.  THAT should be an interesting trip back to the Mountainhome.

What is sanity without a Godly voice of reason?

Look around us.
Does this really look like a place we want to "live"?  Shambling lifeless corpses as our only neighbors?  Surviving (if we wish to refer to it as that) in an environment best suited for the dead?


Here is my proposal...

If our answer is "No", then why not come to the "other side" and let the dead "live" in peace.

If our answer is "Yes", then I suggest we take a serious internal look at what we are, where we are, and what can be accomplished with the materials at hand.
And try to find a way to co-exist in this environment without taking too many endangering risks, while opportunisticly surveying our surrounding area to get some inkling as to which direction we should travel.

And who knows, we may even find out we are not alone and that there's others of like mind in this barren corpse-ridden landscape.  ;)

I don't see any nearby attics. Get out of the area. Fast. Find some kind of isolated point, where we have some kind of respite!

Joan drops to her knees, then vomits, clenching her hands to the sides of her head, choking as she tries to scream.

Your voices continue to roll through her mind.  Some of you taunting, some comforting, some discussing the value of hiding in an attic, if only there was an attic to be found.  One voice may be advocating suicide, but the remainder seem to offer suggestions for survival, though how to survive seems to be openly debated.

Perhaps growing used to the sound of your voices in her head, Joan stirs, then wipes her mouth and moans, "How do I go home.  I want to go home!"

I also suggest go check out that brown thing on the minimap, if its a house/shack it may work as a temporary base and possibly have a weapon of shorts or other supplies.

Joan seems to decide to focus on this advice the most.  She brushes herself off then starts to carefully cross the rise of ground that prevents her from seeing that place.

A ruined cluster of walls distracts her, and she veers from the straight path towards that brown area.  To her eyes, there's nothing unusual due west.

As she moves, she finds a map half pinned under a cinderblock.  (You start the game with this map, but I didn't know the command to see it when I prepped the OP)

There is only one lake, so Joan marks where she thinks she is, just south of it.  She starts moving more truly towards the 'shack', though there's nothing for her to see as she approaches it.  Half the distance across the pond from her, but there's nothing to see.

She notices things sticking out of some piles of trash, and grabs them.  Blank paper, a short length of cloth, she barely pays attention to them except to note that they are not weapons or a way to call for help as she tries to see that shack, anywhere.  There's just more bad ground, more dirt and cinderblocks, stones, and weeds.  She's almost standing on the 'shack' now, but not even broken walls mark the place where it had been, nor any area of smooth floor.  Maybe a shack used to be here?  But someone's home, even if this isn't a house.

The closest she's been to one of them yet, and she doesn't want to get any closer.  It moves perhaps 1/3 her speed if she runs, but it's loud.  And there's others, a bit further away, mostly to her left.  She passed at least a dozen getting here, and at least one of those seemed to be aware of her and following.

Where that 'shack' should be, there's some trash there, and some debris that look different from the other mess she's seen around the area.  She skirts the zombie, trying to get a closer look, and maybe find a weapon.  Food?  There's no sign of anything like food anywhere yet.  Course, she really wants to find a phone, a way home, any way home.

As Joan tries to skirt around the nearby zombie, she spots another one nearby to her right, about as close as the other.  Their sounds are louder, seeming to come from all sides and she's really feeling surrounded.  She tries not to look, just to rush to the debris.

It's a tent, with a couple of sleeping bags and a chair, lots of trash, but though she searches she doesn't find anything even as useful as a blank piece of paper.  She grabs for one of the sleeping bags and tries to find anything else she can take and get away with.  But from the sounds of it, some of the zombies are really close, so she takes a few sprinting steps ahead, then spins to stare behind herself.

Yeah, really close.  Closer than she knew.  One's just jumped on the chair she was right next to seconds before.  After this desperate glance behind herself, she turns and sprints to the northwest, certainly faster than these zombies, and with none visible yet ahead of her.

"Help me, please help me," she pants as she runs.

I believe so.  When I start a game, I can try to select a world, but Navezgane is the only option to select for now.  Likewise, that map appears to be the limit of the playable area for now.

The zombies will headbutt the tower until it collapses. They have destroyed and collapsed a house i was spending the night in.

The only place on Navezgane that i've found so far to be completely safe, is that single brick house in village X.

Squawk, get some wood on the ground, make sticks, make club, ,run for loot, then get to house, or make A torch, using sticks and paper, SQUAWK!
