No magic, so I guess the soul was needed for human magic, but they made up for it, usually with thinking or social skills. Actually, all of them were very pleasant people who would easily pass a Turing test. Alice's right about that, certainly."

A look of surprise came onto Alice's face as Marie suddenly came into her dream
"Hello... Hello Marie, how... how did you get... get in here?"

"I don't truly feel human emotion. I am a machine, not an actual person. Perhaps with more emotion than the norm, but still without a soul."

"I... I don't think that... that really matters that... that much you... you still feel"

<All this talk about souls. The only thing they're useful for is providing energy for the Void.>

"Ok then, if... if you need any... any help you... you just need to... to ask"

"Luna's hosting this, is she? ...wait, her magic is soul-related, right? How's it working on HILDA then?"

Alice waved goodbye to HILDA

"Luna's hosting this, is she? ...wait, her magic is soul-related, right? How's it working on HILDA then?"

Alice nodded
"I... I don't know, she's... she's using the bracelet... bracelet network as... as well I... I think"

"Ahhh. That makes more sense. In the future, I can do it. I've been the bracelet server a few times. Much easier to keep Kyle from using the server to play Dwarf Fortress that way, for one."

"However, your dreams are liable to end up involving the inside of a bacteriophage and similarly bizarre things. And I will probably feed off of your bad dreams and sell them on the open market from time to time."

Marie's grin is basically the definition of mischief right now.
