I believe how it works is that it creates equal amounts of anti-magic, targeted at un-authorized magic within the castle. A strong enough illusion might not be weakened enough by the shield, so supplying it with extra mana would be useful.>

Alice waved back to the professor, she sat patiently as Rose and the professor talked. She did her best to guess what they were saying but she didn't have much luck. As the professor said goodbye she simply copied Rose and said
