"Kyle, let's talk about this."
She rests her hands on her hips as she catches her breath. She's still in her shorts and t-shirt.

Kyle just sighs and stares at the ground.

Ashley crouches, putting her palms on each of Kyle's respective cheeks, lifting his gaze to meet hers.
"Kyle. I care about you and your feelings. Okay? So does Conny. So does Ester. A fair bit of people do. To be honest, you have more people that care about your feelings than most people. Just because a couple of people decide to be a dick to you doesn't represent how everyone feels. There will always be people who don't care, sure, that's normal. But the people that do care... they'll outweigh the people that don't. It about the people who do care. And as long as you realize there will always be at least one person who cares for you, you matter and are part of someone's life... Gah, that quickly turned into me sounding like I was talking you out of... yeah..."

Kyle doesn't look at all convinced.
"I can name the people that care who I haven't known for years on one hand."
