<Yo, Will, should we expand the search? It might have happened elsewhere, and before. Ought to give us a few clues. And share any info you have. I'll do the same.>

Marie does that, looking to see if deaths matching the pattern of the current serial killer have happened elsewhere and elsewhen.

((it's not really much of a horrible reveal. it's a fire demon afterall))

<Alright. Then, how do we get the killers attention on Nuriel though? I don't think he is aware, and making him aware also means making the entire nation aware.>
<Unless we could somehow get in touch with the killer...>
Will begins checking the crimes, looking for some sort of geographical locus, some place near the middle of where the murders were happening, where the serial killer might be.
They seem to happen all over Northsdale, currently, with no real focus. Whomever is doing this is either taking care to avoid just this sort of tracking, or is homeless and wanders around a lot. Many are in the more run-down, gang-ridden part of the city, but given the killer's choice of victim that may just be because there are many potential targets there.
<Yo, Will, should we expand the search? It might have happened elsewhere, and before. Ought to give us a few clues. And share any info you have. I'll do the same.>

She finds that there is indeed a history of such killings, all with the same MO, scattered through newspapers and other such records back almost a hundred years, and before that the main issue is finding records of such things. Some things are consistent across cases: A sharp implement was used, the bodies had their throats cut and organs removed, though it seems that it's generally been slowing down over the years. The first reports have a body found almost every day, while the most recent cases seem to mostly come once a week or so. The victims have also changed, generally tending toward more violent types over time.
[To: All but Kyle and Jack] <...I hate to admit it, but I think Kyle was right about Jacqualine.>

<You could walk around town, commiting heinous crimes?>
<Don't do that.>

>Why the hell can't we have a normal day?! Anima goes missing and she's actually Isis or something, Manticores attack a high school, a serial killer's loose and targeting magical criminals and now we've got a mad god and a vigilante to deal with!

And maybe, just maybe, we're housing Jack the fucking Ripper!<

Alice goes to wherever Jacqualine is and uses soul vision to check kills.

<So, what did we just learn? We learned that our killer or killers have been around for a long time. From the sound of it, it seems they were more bloodthirsty and perhaps less competent back in the day, hence why they went after petty criminals. Now they've gone more cautious, more selective and perhaps more competent.

Also, I'm pretty sure I have Jacqualine accounted for.Nonetheless, the ripper connection intrigues me.

But yeah. She ain't the one. Preeetty sure she was with me at the time of death of that last one, if I understood the news right.>

>Judging by the trend, Jaqueline will probably BE said serial killer, and now we've got a moral dilemma; she still killed, but she's doing what we are, only more Punisher-like and less Batman-esque! Well then!

...when I get back home, I'm going to need a stiff drink.<

<If al s/he kills are murderers and rapists, and mages at that, why do we even try to stop it? Isn't that exactly what we do?>
