Void the person doesn't want that, it'd be less fun. He wants a spanner because it lets him influence things in Creation, which he can't enter.

Think of it like this. Just like Shis'm Caes is not representative of all of Creation and its goals, Void is not representative of the will of the void itself. He's an entity that nominally rules and initated it, but he isn't just it.

Okay I'd say Fate might just be an Avatar of void. They're mostly like that.

Fate is essentially a reconciliation between free-will and the unpredictability of quantum mechanics with the ideas of destiny and certainty. Essentially, as from its own perspective, Fate will succeed, what is destined to happen (the non-existence of all) will irreversibly remove all. Hence it allows uncertainty and whatnot to coexist with an eventual outcome as long as that eventual outcome ensures that the details of occurs before is rendered non-existent and meaningless.

I suppose you could define the difference between Fate and the void as the former's function is not necessarily non-existence but rather reconciles its principles of inevitability by bringing forth the end of all whilst the latter's function IS non-existence. Plus it may be slightly less empty as Void would still exist in the latter. Less of an avatar and more of an ally.

I'd rather not state any equivalence seeing as there are mechanical differences, for example, void magic or void walking can allow safe travel in the void. That is not true for Fate. Attempting to do so will remove all traces of the person except for perhaps their soul, assuming they even succeed (as a general rule of thumb, if it isn't a distortion, it can't go into fate). It is not nearly as welcoming nor is it innately capable of forming any substances like void is. Consolidated distortions are quite different as they are more or less the actual edge of the decay "bubble" that have become solidified to prevent the distortion and its environment from interacting, hence why it can't hold enchantments.
