Basically there was a brief alien invasion by a race called the Layar, which was foiled by a ragtag group of magical girls. This is after that. The group that fought off the invasion are now celebrities of a sort, and shenanigans will no doubt occur. Several other people who have various powers have each found themselves crossing paths with this group, and have each in turn joined forces with them.
