By all means, explore it. I suppose I should also mention the candy weapon at the bottom. You draw it forth like Excalibur.

Edit; Oh, another thing. I guess I should mention that building is probably full of undead. They are numerous, but weak. Just go in with a fairly strong military and you'll be fine.

aren't you the guy that fell for this b4? i saw you on TV tropes.

SpiralDimentia you evil motherfucker.

highmax, you should probably prepare for a long fight.

My advice: Axes, LOTS OF AXES. And Crossbows, LOTS OF CROSSBOWS WITH SILVER BOLTS.

People here laying it on a little thick. The weapon is pretty sweet, but it's not supernatural or anything. It should be a masterwork adamantine weapon (Is it always a sword? I'm not sure). It's no different than any masterwork adamantine weapon your dwarves could make. That said, it's well worth the effort, especially if there's not too much candy on your map.
It may be "no better than any other masterwork adamantine sword", but personally, I don't often have masterwork adamantine swords just lying around. And, while I was being poetic when I said this
Quote from: ShadowHammer
there is nothing that it cannot pierce and no one it cannot slay
it is true; no enemy has strong enough armor to consistently block strikes from an adamantine sword, and it being masterwork just makes it less vulnerable to lucky deflections.

highmax28, now that the cat is out of the cage (again, damnit...) you should read Dragonwork in SpiralDimentia's signature.  You'll understand all the comments (particularly SpiralDimentia's) after that.

It's weird that people know me by name almost. But yeah, I'm the guy. If you want, click the ''Dragonwork'' link in my signature. It's the thread where it all went down, for the greater good of dwarfkind. :D

Most of your things are glorious. Aren't you also responsible for breeding sea serpents and the fire-based self-cleaning well?

Woah! Spiral was the one who was breeding sea serpents? I didn't realize that. That was some dwarfy research. Also, dragon works was epic.
And, to make it easier so you don't have to go through the whole dragon works story, the "long fight" that urist master spoiled for you is the endless reincarnation of slain warriors, both friend and foe. Death by adamantine is the only way for them to be put to rest forever, thus the importance of the upright blade. However, they only reincarnate once a year (or season, or something) you do still have time to ready yourself for an endless assault. Get down quick, grab the sword, get back up quick, and then make sure your chosen champion is only forced to take them on a few at a time.

No, the sea serpents and the fire well are Sphalerite's work.

Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

Yeah, so far my best breeding research is trying to catch a pair of blind cave ogres, and losing oh so many dwarves to a cave crocodile in an attempt to cage it. Also, fire well? You have me intrigued, good sir.

The self-cleaning well is here: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=93780.0

The first design was a !!well!! and didn't work well, or even as a well.
