Development. It'll come out soon enough; Toady certainly hasn't died or anything.

Also, it'd be better to post any DF discussion in the DF forums. No one talks about DF that much on the lower forums, and the boards down here are quite different from the upper forums.

There was a dev post on the 13th. Whats there to be worried over?

I worry about anything and everything. I'm really good at it too. Don't you like me now?

DF: 2010 and the storm of changes afterwards was worth the wait in my opinion.

The great thing about DF 2010 was that squad-based Fortress mode persuaded me to switch to adventure mode.

Dwarf Fortress 2010 was enjoyable, but Dwarf Fortress 2012 is what got me to quit Dwarf Fortress entirely. The reason for this was the hauling update. My god I hate the hauling update.

Yeah, I'm just not the best at fortress mode. I stay around here to play in FG&R, honestly, though I do boot up DF on occasion.

Toady's dev cycle looks like this:
1) Don't release anything for a year or two to make major content upgrades.
2) A fast cycle of mainly bug-fix releases. Sometimes this includes new content, but it's mainly focused on bug-fixing.

By working in this way it allows him to rework the game without needing to worry about keeping the game playable while doing it, and he always has a dev log that he keeps fairly up to date.

I prefer it this way. When DF 2010 came along and followed up with a swarm of updates, it was hard for me to keep up. Giving us a year or two makes things much easier.
