Bitcoin donations?
« on: August 14, 2013, 09:31:10 pm »

I'd really like to donate, but I rather use bitcoins to do so. Even if I have to sacrifice the drawing I'd still like to donate with it. Does toady have a bitcoin address?

Toady, do you plan to accept bitcoin donations or donations through other means than check or Paypal, such as Google Checkout?

I don't plan on holding a bitcoin balance, and I didn't feel comfortable giving bank account information to any of the auto-conversion sites.  I don't remember the obstacles for Google Checkout, but it didn't happen immediately the first time I looked at it.

DF could actually get over 100FPS, it's just that it's mining bitcoin in the background.

edit:

Hmmm, how hard would it be to make a bitcoin miner inside DF? as in floodgate/pressure plate/gear logic?

Don't tell anyone that you can see their shadows. If they hear you telling anyone, if you let them know that you know of them, they will get you.

Way too hard, considering bitcoin mining involve some pretty heavy cryptological functions and it'd take centuries of fortress-time just to get one out. And that's assuming someone's insane enough to compact the hardware into something that'd fit the embark, which's hard enough for 8 bits computers, much less many-byte complex functions.

Considering that the value of bitcoins are about as stable as a 1000 dwarf fort inside a glacial volcano, it's iffy.

I vote that Toady starts accepting them because he could start a bitcoin drug ring on the side for some additional income.

Considering that The Glorious Toad has already flat-out said that he will not accept bitcoins, I'm really surprised people keep bringing this up. It's not happening. Lock thread plzkthx
