Well, as far as you can remember, the drakelings are basically your tiny overly-eager creations. You made them for kicks, but grew to like them after they started building magma-powered automatons and such. Your daughter hated them.

And here we have a dilemma. We could reveal our divine status, and if they believe us, we'd likely be given wealth, power, allies, and so on. However, they likely wouldn't believe what we tell them. This would at best give us scorn, and at worst, they'd attack us. Given that we have no divine powers, they'd probably consider us a heretic rather than their deity. For this reason, I propose that we join the cult made in our honor. This would give us some allies to fall back on when things get dangerous, and we'd likely rise through the ranks quickly. After all, who better to embody what a god stands for than that god himself?
