Magicka: Wizard Wars Alpha

They are starting to accept people into the games alpha, as far as i know i will be a mixed of Magicka´s gameplay with MOBA(Dota, LoL,etc) mechanics. I dont have much to say at the moment, there is a referal mechanic but its mail based so its basically not realy usefull for the forum. There are 3 tiers for the referals, first one guarantees a key, second ones gives an extra key and third ones 2 copies of Magicka Base Game.

To admit the best element combination I use tends to be ice and not stone.

To admit the best element combination I use tends to be ice and not stone.
The ice is not a basic element and it probably wouldn't be available from the start.

Ice is a combination of two elements.

Where the spells I am thinking of are four elements.

They already did. Beams didn't always have such a short duration, as far as I remember...

EDIT: Also, a look at their forums notes that 1) you can only use 3 elements in a spell and 2) they don't combine before the spell is cast - no more steam lightning beam at all.

You could, like, look at their forums. You'd know that:

  • Instead of lightning adding to a steam beam, steam adds to lightning.
  • a charged up triple-stone combo is no longer a OHK, because getting instakilled by something you couldn't dodge or see coming was no fun and the game was apparently boring when everyone ran around with rock armor all the time.
  • If frozen, that charged up triple-stone-combo is still fatal.
  • Projectiles pass through shields. Beams do not. Walls are weak to beams, but not to projectiles, etc.

Lots of other things. Check the forums. There are a couple threads about the magic system.

I prefer the Icex4 + Rock combo because it has the speed and kill power.

Only physically resistant wizards can survive that... those without it are one hit killed, and it charges so fast you can shoot it almost as soon as you cast it.

wiki indeed says that ice*4 + stone deals upwards of 14k damages, while stone*5 is more around 5-6k. I tried ingame and can confirm. Ice's OP.

Sort of... You do not use Ice4+stone for the max charge. You use it because of how little charge you need to do a deadly shot.
