Take sword.
"Heh, magic just loves eights, doesn't it. Eighth colour, eight mages, eight gods, eight eyes... Wait. The z-word still lets us become horrific abominations? I guess some things never change."
Science:
"Colatica Josionp Tral."
If attacked in melee, use sword. If attacked at range, use:
"Myxida Enur."
Spoiler: Engage! (click to show/hide)

Am i the only one who sleeps well?
I sleep well. For instance, just over an hour ago I laid down on the hallway floor, using my laptop bag as a pillow, and took a refreshing half-hour nap!
My problem is that I don't sleep enough.

Works better than Myxidia Jump-Into-The-Black-Hole.

And as far as Myxidias go, one fired ahead is pretty good.

Getting it away from you is still a better idea than letting it sit next to you.
That's not a high bar, but it's true.
