((In character.  If you've never encountered magic before and all your attempts with it are failures, why would you logically be inspired to fruitlessly try again?  That's why I'm not trying much.  I'm excited about the tome, but I'm also roleplaying and the personality I'm using doesn't support it.))

((Point. Doesn't make it less annoying that the only character who isn't PMing their words isn't using words anyhow.
Bob not included, as he just appeared last turn.))

((I don't like it either, but at the same time it does prevent every character from automatically knowing words they didn't discover.  That doesn't make any sense either.  This way, people can keep their successes to themselves and the characters don't behave like they're attached to a hive mind.  It makes it more competitive.

I just justify it for myself that other characters know what's going on/are naturally built for arenas/are secretive psychopaths.))

I justify my excessign metagaming as 'If it allows me to grow in power whilst sowing more destruction and death without dying myself, IT'S AWWWRIGHT!'

I paradoxically do not like everyone elses metagaming, cause that makes my job (Your numerous and gruesome deaths) harder. Hurrah for Derm centered morality.

We're waiting for Scapheap since he's tied up in that big melee.

For the record, quorum for doing a turn is five players, assuming everyone directly involved in combat is present.

Second verse, same as the first!
Keep on attacking Joe.
Get up, run away.
Everyday I'm whipping(Fuzzy)

[Derm Spd:5]
[Fuzzy Spd:2]
[Joe Spd:5+1]
[Jack Spd:1-1]

[Derm Str:6]

[Derm Dex:3]
[Joe Dex:4-1]

[Derm Str:4]
[Joe End:5-1]

Joe finally gets up and tries to get away, but Derm has a shot at a parting swipe with the Chinkberd.  The blow isn't well aimed, but it connects with the spike.  Joe catches it on bone, and sends him flying down with a gash on his left shoulderblade.  His head of speed does allow him to roll away from Derm a bit.

Derm turns to the other two fighters, points, and says his words.

[Derm Pot:5]

[Jack Dex:4]
[Fuzzy Dex:1+1]

[Fuzzy End:1]

A nasty looking spear of sharpened bone appears in front of Derm and rockets straight forward.  Jack sees it coming and dodges away, but Fuzzy isn't looking, and catches it square through the chest.  He looks down to see bits of heart and lung poking out, before collapsing.  His body turns to ash and fades away.

A pinprick of light rises from the ash and floats into Derm's chest.

Jack, suddenly lacking a target, backs away from Derm.

Say the following, all individually.
Gostophori
Nunpachori
Ofactidio

Once finished, and if still breathing, Bob attempts to find a place that is both far from other wizards and yet is also not precariously placed over open pits of spikes or magma or giant spiders or other such things.

Bob, wondering where his hallucinogen-laced snack food has gone, shrugs and begins reading words from the magic book.

[Pot:1+1]  A few strands of hair poof into existence and float lazily downward.

[Pot:5+1]  Nothing happens, as far as you can tell.

[Pot:1+1]  A rusty iron chunk the size of your fingernail drops to the ground in front of you.

As far as running goes, you back up to the northern wall, away from the spikes.  There's screaming coming from the northern door and you saw a couple people out the western door.  You're alone in this room, and at least the spikes aren't under you.

Researchizzle!

Cast spells every day

[Pot:2+1] A hazy shimmering image appears before you.  Hmmm... looks pretty rounded.

[Pot:3+1] A chunk of crystal the size of a watermelon appears before you and thuds to the ground.

[Pot:3+1] Nothing happens.

[Pot:6+1] Great gouts of green gushing liquid appear and splash down in front of you.  Some splashes on your shoe, and it starts hissing and eroding.  Ah, acid- better not drink it.

[Pot:4+1] Nothing happens.

Tod-5 phases in on the South Ledge in the Grand Room.  His sensors indicate he's boned.

Quote from: Players
Scapheap:  Jack  -  Northeast side, Grand Room  {Left hand is foot-long bone whip, tourniquet on stump}
Xantalos:  Xantalos - North ledge, Grand Room  {Ley lines on body}
Derm:  Derm - Center, Grand Room (1/5 Pool) [Chink the Halberd] (2)
Piecewise: Bob -  North Center, Spike Room
Tiruin:  Myra - East side, Magma Room
Lasla:  Derek Grimdur - East side, Magma Room  [Wand]
Harry Baldman:  Tod-5 - South Ledge, Grand Room
Remuthra:  Joe Bridger - South side, Grand Room  {On ground, ribs broken}

And finally we have our first kill.
