The Omnihub - a crossover fighting arena game
« on: July 08, 2013, 03:02:59 pm »

I'm not done with my current PSGs, I'm just on a temporary break. They'll be back soon. (High school application and all that.)

"Ah, video games. One of the most robust and unique, if inconsistent, wonders of modern technology. Soldiers and knights fighting for their causes, farmers and miners making their livings, the designers, the ninjas, everyone and everything. Stuck in their eternal worlds, in control of higher beings who create and destroy them at their will. But they do not care. Because they can't fight against them, they're helpless, oblivious to their masters. But that doesn't stop them in their relentless purposes, whatever they might be.

But even they can grow tired of that monotony, and they may want to break it. Where their own worlds end, a new, greater one opens to them - where all the characters from every video game ever created by man can meet and compete against each other in an endless amount of ways - either on settled-on rules, or on a challenge that they might bring out from their universes.

You might be wondering how I know all of that, and it's perfectly fine. A place where apparently seperate entities can meet up, in one single place is a strange place indeed.
I am in charge of this place, for I have created it with my own mind.

Welcome, stranger from a world beyond this one.
Welcome to The Omnihub. Your new home away from home.

Make yourself for as long as you please, and remember - you can always return here. Everyone can."

The Omnihub is a large hi-tech (although looking very neutral) stadium floating in the void between the video game universes, where you can fight (or compete in any other way) as a character from any (actual) video game you choose against other video game characters.

You can either have a normal solo duel or a teamfight with any amount of fighters on both sides (and any universes, for that matter) in either just a deathmatch-type game or participate in what is called challenges.

Challenges can be thrown down by any video game character, where they are the ones to set out the rules to which all participants are bound to (the challenger(s) included).

There is also a point system, which allows every character to keep track of their performance in challenges and regular battles against other characters.
Every character starts with 1.000 points, and is given 50 points for winning a regular battle and loses 50 points for losing as well.

When someone throws down a challenge they have to set out the stake in points as well. Everyone who is willing to participate in a challenge must "pay" that stake from their own points pool, which is added to the grand prize pool, split among winners (should there be more than one). It's a risk=reward system.

You don't have to play the same character (you can make your current one "return" to his/her/its original universe and choose a new one) and there can be multiple of the same character as well. You can take over someone's "retired" character as well. It's fairly dynamic.

Application form (mostly for me if your character is unfamiliar for me)
Code: [Select]
Name:
Universe: (what game franchise/series does your character originate from)
Gender: (if applicable)
Description: (can be in-game one, if there's such. A short backstory and/or appearance of your character)
"Type": (your character's style/role, so that you know what challenges you can efficiently participate in ie. Fighting, Building, Jumping, Social? etc. Multiple types are allowed.)
Abilities/Weapons: (self-explanatory)

So, what do we do to join? Say who we are in the first fight?

I'll be a T. rex from Jurassic Park: Trespasser, if such a thing is allowed.

Could you explain a bit more?

Also, I think that you should use that as the application form (it's simple, but you know, you are operating with already existing characters here).

Code: [Select]
Name:
Universe: (what game franchise/series does your character originate from)
Gender: (if applicable)
Description: (can be in-game one, if there's such. A short backstory and/or appearance of your character)

I may know your chosen character by an off-chance, but for the most part expect me to do dumb stuff in the writing.

Can we select up to two characters?

If it's something like Vinnie and Spike from Awesomenauts (two characters played as one), then yes.
If it's two seperate characters (Sonic and Tails or something), then not really.

Hm.
So far, the only people to post here so far are players from my other games! D:

SPIES EVERYWHERE!
Just joking, though. It's not like I hate you or anything. (it's either coincidence or do I seriously have a small-ish dedicated playerbase following?)

Name: Nautilus
Universe: League of Legends
Gender: Male
Description: A horrifyingly tormented man, trapped in a large diving suit by a strange, black entity. He was abandoned to die alone by his crew in a terrible storm after the aforementioned entity latched onto him. Ever since, he has sought the ones who left him for dead to gain revenge.

Nautilus is hidden in his rusted diving suit, the only thing visible of his face being two red eyes. He carries an immense anchor, and he smells of brine.
"Type": Tank, Fighting
Abilities/Weapons:
Staggering Blow: Every 30 seconds, Nautilus can stun with a single hit from his anchor. Passive.
Dredge Line: Nautilus pulls an enemy to himself with his anchor, damaging them, and he flies a short distance towards them. He can also pull himself to terrain.
Titan's Wrath: Nautilus shields himself with dark energies, damaging enemies who attack him or he attacks, and absorbing damage.

Depth Charge: Nautilus causes a wave to follow an enemy. The wave follows the target everywhere, knocking upwards any who get in it's way, and knocking the enemy up and slowing them upon hitting its target.

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

In my defense, that form wasn't there when I posted earlier.

Name: T. rex ("Mr. T" to those trying to make a joke)
Universe: Jurassic Park: Trespasser
Gender: Female
Description: An alpha predator in the Jurassic Park
"Type": Boss
Abilities/Weapons: Bite (powerful melee "weapon"); Nigh Invulnerable (normal weapons don't really hurt it, in part due to extremely high HP totals); Bugged (Things work unpredictably on, from, and around T. rex; one specific is that most items lose much of their weight in T's vicinity, causing large objects to be easily lifted and rendering most melee weapons useless)
