Buy two of the 40C smoke grenades I found earlier, then turn the voice off on the disk and relax until the mission.

((also, a question.  How do you utilise your attunement skill?))

You head up to the second floor, moving up the rickety stairs. You hear tenants yelling at each other in some rooms, babies crying, dogs barking. The room labeled '54' has a 'Do not disturb!' sign in the doorknob, and a 'Warning: DOG' sign taped to the door. A hole has been drilled into the door where the peephole would be. Knocking on the door doesn't elicit a response, at first. After a few moments, you hear a door open on the other side. "Who is it? Who are you? What do you want?" comes a hasty voice from the other side. Looking down the hall, you don't think you're being followed.

First you peruse your diskmate for any such software. You find there are two such programs already on your device, 'SeeThrough' and 'evensthefield.exe'. ST has its own user friendly GUI, and many options. Even someone who had no idea what they were doing could hack with this software, though you imagine there are many countermeasures for such established tech. etf.exe is the opposite of user friendly. All it is is a command terminal, with hundreds of cryptic commands, such as 'boogeymen', 'flyfar', 'knock_see', and 'knock_check'. You imagine this is some homebrew software. Difficult to master, but extremely effective.

((Effectively, these two 'items' have different qualities that aid your rolls. There are two rolls for hacking, as with several other items: set up and execution. ST has a +2 to set up and varying degrees of modifiers for execution. etf.exe has -2 to set up (mitigated the more you use or play with it) and varying degrees for execution, though mostly positive.))

Hard to explain, but you will know when blasterbast is attuned to you brain. Here..." he walks to that back room for a bit and returns with a black canister, etched with runes. "Put hand on device. Once that, I will transfer attuned over to you brain and it is yours."

Do you hand over the credits and place your hand on the runed canister?

You make your purchase, turn off the voice, and check into a motel. Now the calm before the storm...

You feel it has limited use, connected directly to the contents of the canister. "Spell will not work until putty removed from can. Be very, very careful when handling putty. No open flame, electrical current, or heat! Make sure you behind cover or far away. Now, go destroy something." he says, a smile creeping on his face.

"Well, lung grinders'll kill 'em. Not in seconds, though. Maybe if they breathe it in for a good 10 seconds. That'll grind their innards something fierce. They'll be bleedin' on the insides 'til they die after, maybs two minutes? Iffn' they don't get medical attention, or a steroid sup, acourse. Military grade killin' gas isn't legal by corporate standards. They'd cut my eyes out if I carried eerie gas, or mustard, or phosgene."

"Slingshots? I'm guessin' you'll be askin' for a blowgun and some warpaint next?" she jests. She grabs something from under the table and sets it on the counter. It was a small cylinder, with a pump on the end. "Thisin is what we use to send our friends special gifts here on Hinte. Hold it like this, see? And twist the pump..." She points the gun at you, and you can see something rapidly inflate on the inside as she twists the pump. When she twists it back, the thing deflates just as quickly. "She'll shoot yer grenades at any speed ya want, just set this here dial fer range and speed. It'll cost ya 120 C."
