An idea, will this be possible and how difficult?

Alright, so here's what I want to do: create a custom workshop that, using the Alchemy skill, takes kaolinite and spawns a golem, a custom creature that you control a la dorf, without the ability to learn, but max physical stats and skill in tasks like pump operator or mining, and doesn't eat, sleep, drink, breathe, go insane, and (being made of kaolinite) is highly resilient.

Now, I know that you can create custom workshops and that you can create custom creatures. What I want to know is if there's a way to make a workshop spawn a creature, and if you can make the creature function as a dorf.

Any advice?

Possible
Semi Difficult

Create a golem caste in dwarves with a POP_RATIO of 1
and for the other 2 castes (MALE/FEMALE] have the POP_RATIO really high like 50000

make a special boiling material (best to make it in a creature/plant so randoms beasts are not made from it)
this boiling material has a inhaled syndrome that transforms a dwarf into said golem

volia, now have a Golem. The Phys stats can be altered but skills cannot be given or the learn rates.

Spawning creatures is a long and broken process, harder then the above mentioned method.

Well, thing is, I'm not trying to create a new playable race or anything, I'm trying to give alchemy a use, so the spawning thing is what I want.

I've been looking for something like that for ages, attempting to mod in crafting golems from nothing, and now there actually is a solution to that. Now to implement this.

So there's no way to simply spawn a modded dorf from a workshop?

Guys, you are forgetting something.

Spawning a creature like this will give a "friendly" creature, with no way at all of controling it. The dwarf-caste golem transformation will work, or transforming a pet will work, but spawning from bodyparts will not work for this.

This is the reason I changed all my creature spawning to use basic, cheap pets as reagents.

Nyeh, works for me. I need golems, not servants.
