Also, when you load up GIMP, it automatically gives you a zoom to show the whole picture, so normally my pictures are a little shy of 100%, because my pictures are a little on the large size, normally around 80% or so, the village game itself has a proper 100% when first loaded.

But Gia? Frelling 6% zoom.

That's huge.

All right, I got that little peninsula to the west of the Dragon's Coast done.
It was a little harder, because I shifted the part of the map where it makes the edge over there, so that the huge continent on the far side wouldn't be split down the middle, but it ended up with that particular landmass being split instead.

But it's a small area, anyway, that wasn't being used, so who cares.

The exact point where the world loops is just slightly to the west of the Wizard's Island, so that, from going west to east on the map, you'd hit the Wizard's Island, then the main continents, then the far continent, and then it loops around.

So progress is good.

It's because of the way I'm doing it, instead of working one hex at a time, I make about 7, group then together so I can move them faster, and then copy/paste them over and over on top of each other, and then flatten them all into a single layer when I'm done with the continent as a whole, to make saving take less time.

This will make the oceans in particular less hair-wrenching, for when I get to them, and also why the top took so stupidly long, because I couldn't really do that properly.

Ok, that big ugly mass of plains to the north-east is done.
So far it is the largest land mass to have been completed. You know how I said I would group 7 hexes together to go faster?
Well I ended up grouping like 40 of the things together so I was basically flinging around entire continental shelves to get that part done, but it's done now, so that's all of the landmasses that connected to the top done, with the exception of that very tiny tip of the far continent that reaches up into there, but I'll save that for last.

So, 2 peninsulas and a sub-continent done. Sounds like a good day's work, so I'll end it there for tonight.

All right, map progress report.

I got bored, so I went ahead and mapped out the entirety of the world's oceans, so all of the water hexes are in so I have a better reference for continent distancing and sizing.

When I first started this, I thought people might point out some of the small flaws with the art of the hexes themselves, but when you zoom out all the way, you can't even see the lines of the hexes, it actually looks like this massive ocean with a few small bits of land at the northern cap.

Also the map takes so long to save and load now that it looks like the computer freezes up, and it still has major lag for about 5 whole minutes afterwards as it recovers from the shock.

So progress is good.
