I really wish you could reload the save and unleash the Old Ones.  Maybe as a bonus story?

I'd have had to have saved it part-way through the event chain, which always risks screwing it up.  I didn't, so I guess we'd have to wait for it to re-emerge naturally (with another lunatic pagan monarch).

Gilla-Comgain is shaping up to be a pretty capable replacement, though.  I am getting pretty effin' tired of typing Gilla-Comgain, though, so I want to make sure his successor is called Aed.

Just call him Gil!

This is fantastically written and I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

It looks like Gil will have an easy time forging the Empire of Brittania if he and Ireland can survive long enough.  Vikings don't take well to having a child for a leader.

PTW because this is awesome. Dat Lovecraft reference. There was practically an entire quote straight from "Rats in the Walls", reference to the Necronmicon and Lovecraft's generic "evil inbred cult village by the sea" and of course Cthulhu rising from the deep.

All that thrown in with crazy family-killing Irish Viking hunchbacks and a medieval pagan Ireland empire established by the aforementioned crazy viking hunchback, and you get one heck of a story. Bonus points because the viking hunchback punched out Cthulhu...with a longboat...while in his 50s. Pure awesome.

To be fair, Cthulhu isn't exactly the most fearsome of elder beings. In the story where he's awoken he's basically put down by the paddle wheel on a steamboat. It was a bit underwhelming considering how popular culture has made him out to be a horribly fearsome beast.

It's still unexpected from a game about managing a monarch and their kingdom in the medieval 800s. What's next, rocketcheetahs from space led by zombie Adolf Hitler?

Point being, this LP is condensed awesomesauce.

I'd be surprised if there are no time traveller events in this game.

There's a DLC for an Aztec Invasion of Europe. But no time-traveller events. Sadly.

I appear to have exceeded my bandwidth allowance.  I'll have to figure out a way around that before continuing the LP, then...
