The woman and her daughters wonder where this new king is. It is way past the time the king calls court in her homeland, and the palace seems to be in disarray. She is starting to wonder whether she should offer her services to what seems like such an amateur king......

"If the King doesn't arrive soon, i will personally hunt him down and drag him out of where-ever he is hiding......" She mutters to herself.

Quiet laughing wafts across the room from multiple different shadows.

You won't even reach the door, the king is under our protection.

Be careful who you are talking to, filth. You are addressing one of the famed weapon mistresses of the continent of Ainnatir. I could gut you where you stand before you even realise I've drawn a sword.

She chuckles quietly to herself.

I find it hilarious that a country whose army consists of serfs with pointy sticks, old war dogs and little girls is threatening me.....

She starts pacing in front of the throne-room doors, her patience wearing thin. Graet, just great She thinks to herself Now i have to content with uppity little girls who think hiding in the shadows is an honourable way to fight....

The laughing intensifies seeming to come from dozens of places at once.

You would not even get close enough to touch me, if you could find me at all.

As she speaks every word seems to come from a different direction.

Now be patient, the king will arrive when he is ready, the king commands, you do not.

Tell me, little girl, do you, or any of your little friends, have true battle experience? Do you even know how feared the Maiden and Matriarch brigades in my homeland are? And did you know one of their roles is counter intelligence? Your mind games do not work on me, or my daughters.

At that, she slowly pulls a deadly looking, but still sheathed, rapier out of her dress.

If you continue to, unwisely, mock me, i will be forced to teach you a lesson.

The laughter grows even louder for a moment then silences entirely as the voice speaks again from directly behind you where 5 black armoured women have appeared.

Me and my little friends have killed warriors in the hundreds, if we wanted you dead you would be on the ground already without ever knowing who attacked you.

Approaching the woman in the lead then extends her hand.

You stood your ground well, perhaps you will be of value to the king after all.

The woman turns slowly, smiling. She reaches out and shakes the leaders hand firmly and looks straight into the leaders eyes.

You and your sisters seem to have skill. I like that. However, i heard you coming the moment you moved your feet. If i had been serious and not afraid that harming the kings pretty bodyguards would effect my chances of employment, you wouldn't have been able to get close to my daughters and I.

Releasing the leaders hand, she turns back, studying the entrances, trying to see if the King has arrived yet.

Now, little spy, would you be kind enough to go and fetch your tardy King so that we may get started on today's business. I am a busy woman and there are things i have to be getting on with.

The king enters the room and takes the seat on the throne. The audience is open and the woman and her entourage are allowed to approach.

"Forgive my lateness my lady, but matters of state have occupied me. What is it that you bring forth to my court?"

He spoke to blades a moment later.
"Stand down. My guests are to be treated with respect, not disdain. I do not wish to make bad impressions on anyone, and if you have reservations about who approaches me, let me make that call."

As she sees the King enter the room, she gives the spy one last smile.

Keep telling yourself that, child.

With that, she turns to greet the king.

Ah, your highness. Thank you for joining us. What I offer is, really, very simple. The service of my daughters and I in return for shelter, food and water. I, Anastasia, am a proud veteran warrior of the Matriarch brigade in the foreign land of Ainnatir. I am also an expert arms mistress, which means i can aid in the training of your forces in any weapons, ranged or melee, you deem fit.

She turns to her daughters. Laying her hand on the first.

This is my eldest daughter, Alda. She is a skilled physician and inventor. I am sure you can put her skills to use..

She moves on to the second daughter.

This sweet little thing is my second daughter, Eava. She is a notable engineer and infrastructure specialist. Judging from the state of the roads, public buildings and agriculture in this country, her skills are sorely needed.

She then moves on to the last daughter.

This one is my youngest daughter. She is also a military veteran, of the Maiden brigade. Her name is Tolaska. She is a arms mistress like myself, and she is also a strict disciplinarian drillmistress..

Annastasia then turns to the king, smiles and bows.

If you will accept us, we will put our skills to good use helping your country rebuild.

((OOC: The daughters are NPC's. Use them as you see fit)).

Raeric, in his quarters, spent the night working on several letters. There were several, for several uses, but the most important of all was a letter addressed to the Chancellor.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The others, he sent all around the royal demesne, to every region sending the king levies.
Although the exact wording differed from one to the other, they all asked the same thing - that every region sent a tenth of its levies (preferably volunteers, though that was not obligatory) to the capital from training.

King was visibly impressed with the list of talents as displayed by the foreign weapon mistress and her daughters.

"Your stay here is most welcome. Your skills will definitely aid my kingdom and I look towards having your daughters use their talents in our kingdom. You can stay.
Marshal Raeic will be most pleased by news of a skilled trainer in our ranks. Your daughters will also find good acquaintances and collaborators among my courtiers.

King rubbed his chin and asked with a roguish smile o his face:
"If you don't mind indulging my curiosity, what happened to their father? an all-female corps is not unheard of in my lands, but their commonality is interesting, to say the least. "

(OOC: NPCs usually aid their chief characters but majority of the game is played with 1 player character. Feel free to insert your NPCs wherever you deem them fit, but don't make it into a game with several characters at once. I'm gonna approve only one skillset for you.)

"...Alright. But before I go, I must see if the king is accepting towards this...non-reduced guard."
My orders were explicit. Reduced bodyguard will go with Grewie, no more, no less, but it will finally go! One more delay on either side and I will throw both you and blades out.

The Lord Mayor approaches the mistress confidently.

"Ma'am, I am the Lord Mayor of Meridon, Anders. I would humbly like to request the services of your second daughter in improving the town."

Since the Crowning of the New King Carling hadn't been down in the dungeons, he couldn't leave the backstabbery at the court lest he fall behind, so he stayed and watched. Now during the happenings of the "Assassination"-Attempt he had ventured down into the Lower Levels of the Castle, taking stock of his turnkeys, torturers and of course the prisoners.

Take stock of the Dungeons, It's Personnel in Turnkeys,Torturers, Torturing implements and of course of its Prisoners and teh Number of Cells.

Kyle goes into the library to skulk over his failure and take stock of the library again. And then send a letter to Ansalem to tell him that his request has been accepted. Also begin reaserch on simple topics that would make life easier for commoners.
