game concept
« on: June 05, 2013, 03:51:21 pm »

I have a game concept but I have a problem I am an average  person with no programing skills , no art talent and just have no clue how to make a game. I like any other person on the internet would love their concept to become a real game. Does anyone have an idea what I can do ?

Are you looking for people to do it with you?
Cause you might actually wanna pitch the game idea then.
And plus i kinda wanna hear it too

Well like I said I don't know anything about game design so won't be looking for people yet . The concept in it self is that its a never ending procedural generation game some what like the elder scroll games but when your finished with one "realm" or "world" quest line you go to the next "realm or "world" .

Especially when your initial inspiration is "a procedurally generated, persistent Elder Scrolls game."

Is it just going to be a first person hack-n-slash with endless randomized worlds? What's supposed to be so great about that? Why should I play it over Skyrim?

I'd some more of the details hammered out.

Right now this is a concept game just an idea the main thing is  I want to make the game for myself if it was made for the public it would be more for donations .

Edit: I am not looking for people to make my game.

Or one of the first two TES games, since they were randomly generated, and, IIRC, about the size of EUROPE!

Yea. The good elderscrolls. Skyrim does not deserve to be among the ranks of daggerfalls.

In my opinion, the basics of Python are a hundred times easier than C++, and considering OP says he has no idea how to make a game, he probably never got much further.

Anyways, OP, making a game is hard, especially when you want to make something that even comes close to the scale of TES. It's possible to learn a programming language on your own, but really the best way is to sign up for a course. You also have to consider that the technology available to game developers has evolved a lot over time, but that progress doesn't automatically translate to your game. Making a game that looks like Metro will still take years and years of work on a very advanced level, and be nearly impossible alone.
