It's alright, I just remember you teasing me about that.
Or maybe it was someone else in a game you played in.

Poll is up for the voting.

Is this a single elimination tournament or does everyone fight everyone eventually? As for your team being arena grandmaster... Meh, I don't mind one way or the other.

Elimination, with a secondary bracket for placement of the losing teams.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5e7EUVofOgLdF9UcDZYaVVla0E/edit

Hope that works. Should be a link to all of the current teams, a round robin table, and a bunch of misc. stuffs.

Thanks for that.  I'll put the link in the OP.

Working on more tourney stuff...

That being said I think the finals are fine SO LONG AS you change Sephiroth

Edit: Had to scrap the old sheet. New one should be up soon.

Well here's the information we do have... Ugh... Wish I could just do a spreadsheet but you can't do vertical text in this damn thing.

Here it is in spreadsheet form. Should be easier to read parts of it. No Vertical Text though so that part sorta sucks.

I found something out: if I use the dyssidia version, it turns out fairly balanced.

Don't worry about listing the characters and their abilities, I am already working on that.

Document containing Characters and Grandmasters

A word about the Grandmasters: their attacks are decided by a d100 roll, so the extremely powerful strikes (currently RYNO and Heartless Angel) are extremely unlikely to happen.  The CR on the Limit Break of Sephiroth means that a roll over the number causes it to happen, but it can only occur once a match, but if it does, that is all that is needed.

The heavy breathing and grunts coming from the other compartments nearly drowned out the constant loud droll of the helicopters blades. Ocelot couldn’t tell whether he was in the same room with whatever beasts were making the noise but he knew that there were two of them and that they were quite large.

“Tea Mr. Ocelot?” Came a voice from over the radio. Despite the fact that they had blind-folded him and bound his hands they treated him fairly. They obviously wanted something.

“I’m not thirsty.” He replied cordially waving his hand slowly as to not give them a reason to suspect offense. If truth be told he was more intrigued than anything else. The constant roars though did worry him slightly.

“What are those things?” He asked the voice. Apparently they had fitted him with a microphone as well as they seemed to pick up on his speech rather well.

“Nothing you need to concern yourself about until you meet Ewige Kaiserin.”

“The Immortal Empress hm? Interesting.” So apparently there’d be a member of royalty seeking his services. They were so easy to manipulate.

It was several hours before the chopper finally touched down. Several hours of being treated as a guest as the roars and grunts continued as a constant symphony accompanied by the hum of the rotors, several hours of fear ebbing and flowing due to those grunts, and several hours of intrigue and anticipation rising to near unheard of levels. By the time Ocelot stepped off of the chopper he was almost as eager as any other time.

Feeling a set of small hands grasp the blindfold Ocelot mused ‘Children? An African country perhaps? More dictators. Should be f-‘ however his musing was cut short as he looked at the strange creature before him. It appeared to be a small human wearing a polkadotted hat. But its proportions were way too far off. “What are you?”

“I am Guardsman One Hundred and Twenty Nine. The Leader of the Ewige Kaiserin’s illustrious forces. I am a Toad from the Mushroom Kingdom.”

“Impossible. That’s just a myth!” Ocelot stated. It was impossible to believe that those silly video games he saw being sold across America were actually representations of fact.

“Believe what you want.” The creatures squeaky voice made it hard to take seriously despite Ocelot’s surprise “I am instructed to bring you to Ewige Kaiserin.”

“Very well. Are they a toad as well?”

“Of course not. They are human. This way sir.” This one’s manners were more straightforward than the ones on the chopper. It was like they were different species entirely but a quick glance proved them to be the same race.

“So this Empress. What is she like?”

“Ask them yourself. All questions shall be answered in time human. Simply follow me. Your equipment awaits you.”

“Unharmed I hope.”

“All munitions and firearms shall be returned to you when you arrive in Ewige Kaiserin’s Chamber.”

“During the meeting?” That was certainly new. Maybe this Empress didn’t know about Ocelot’s marksmanship. Either way it was an odd choice.

The squat creature however refused to answer leaving Ocelot with only his thoughts and the slow clicking sound of their progression. The castle surrounding him looked like it appeared in a fairy tale. Large marvelous pillars crafted from pure white marble adorned the hall-way accented via many large banners showing artistries that would fetch many millions of dollars in even the humblest of auction houses. Ocelot found himself rather impressed with the décor.

More than that however he was amazed at the creatures inside of the castle more than anything. Creatures that could only be called dragons, walking bombs, monsterous turtles, large balls of iron with teeth and eyes, ghosts floated to and fro but shied away from his gaze, shambling corpse like creature also seemed to be common place. However what  caught his attention was that most of these beings had one trait in common: A small band with a glowing yellow light on their necks.

‘Mind control?” He mused as he and his guide slowly reached a large door.

“This is where I stop. You are permitted to enter. Ewige Kaiserin is expecting you. Your weapon and ammunition should be on the table directly in front of the entrance.”

Sparing a quick glance at One Hundred and Twenty Nine he saw that no collar adorned his neck. So it appeared that some truly were loyal.

Walking into the room was not at all like he expected. These sort of meetings usually resulted in the regent attempting to surprise Ocelot with a show of force. Grand rooms and lavish meals were the norm. However here there was only a simple table containing his equipment and a bed just as plain as the table itself.

‘Certainly going for a wow factor I can see.’ Ocelot mused quietly as he approached the table. Only one chair… This gave him pause but he grabbed his gun-belt regardless. His Single Action Army felt right returning once more to its master’s hand.

“Hello.” Came a distorted voice from everywhere at once.

“You must be the Ewige Kaiserin.” Ocelot replied.

“Quite right. I suppose you’ve been to these sort of meetings before? I’d prefer if we just cut to the chase I’m a very busy man.”

“A man you say? That’s an interesting-“

“My gender is of no concern. Male or Female I can choose to be either until you’ve gained my trust.”

“Huh, you really are into speeding this along aren’t you?”

“Yes. I have a proposition if you’d be so kind as to sit down or stand. I don’t care which.”

“I’ll stand.”

“Very well. I am in the process of starting a war with the Mushroom Kingdom. However a certain… man needs to be apprehended beforehand.”

“So I’m starting a war is it? Should be ea-“

“No. The war will happen regardless of whether or not you fail your objective. This man’s safety is the utmost concern. He and his brother have taken to playing hero. Defeating that Koopa King more times than you could likely count. No, what I need from you is to enter a tournament and capture this man.”

This was certainly different. Most people recruited him to start conflicts. This would be his first retrieval mission in quite some time. “What do I receive from this?”

“Payment that would make the Philosopher’s Legacy appear to be the paycheck from a part-time job.”

This certainly peaked his interest. How many Metal Gears could you create with that sort of money? “Alright. Who is he?”

“His name is Luigi. Brother of Mario. I will have Two Fifty Seven brief you more. Now for you team-mates.”

“Team?” Ocelot never cared for teams. They always made subterfuge harder to pull off. Not to mention the fact that he preferred to hunt alone.

“Yes. I think you’ll find them… Amusing.” The slight pause was punctuated by a laugh just before the door was thrown from its hinges.

“What the!?” Ocelot shouted as he leapt over the table seeking cover from the two beasts in front of him.

One was an eight foot tall monstrosity of muscle. It used to be human. Of that there was no doubt. It was also obvious that the thing could pick him up easily. Torn flesh hung of its upper body and open sores exposing bulging muscle drew the eye to the beast easily. It was obvious what this creature was made for: Destruction. Even its posture showed this as it continuously looked from side to side as though seeking something to smash. It apparently found it in the bed. The collars around its arms flashed red momentarily as the behemoth rushed forward and destroyed the bed within seconds. Splinters flew from the mess as the beast continued to pound it into submission.

Raising his gun to fire a bullet at it the Ewige Kaiserin’s voice spoke “He is in control. Do not worry. Tank here will be more than capable of performing tasks you may be… too scrawny for.”

“And the other… thing?”

“Venusaur.”

The creature appeared to be some weird hybrid of plant and animal. A freak of nature to say the least. A large red flower was its most prominent feature and gave off a slightly pleasant smell. Other than that the large quadraped simply stood there as though awaiting order. It wasn’t wearing a collar though it swayed from side to side as though it longed to… do something.

“So what does it do?”

“You shall be instructed in time. It shall follow your orders however. Well,” Ewige Kaiserin’s voice rang out again “In a moment anyways. Venusaur, you follow this man’s orders now. Treat him well. Make sure he doesn’t get out of line with my lo-“ A small cough masked this small verbal tic “Luigi. Anyway I shall send Three Hundred in momentarily to take you to your true room.”

“Right…” Ocelot couldn’t help but stare at the two beasts who made up his team “Does anyone here have a name?”

“Three Hundred enjoys being called Nerjin. You shall be entering the tournament under his banner. You are a mercenary. You have no ties to me until Luigi is found alive. Now go.”

“Yes Ewige Kaiserin.”

“Oh an Ocelot?”

“Big Boss says hello.”

The implication of this statement caught Ocelot unawares “John!?”

“Oh yes he’s one of my many contacts. If you perform well… Let’s just say I might forget not to tell you where he is.”

Ocelot’s heart thumped in his chest “Yes… Ewige Kaiserin. Luigi shall be captured alive.”

“Excellent. Do not fail.”

And I've gotten an idea for the first arc involving mine. I'm thinking as to whether or not whoever employs my team should want to interfere with Ocelot's employer. For now though....

Udyr awoke. He was not....overly pleased to see where he was.

The last he remembered, he had fallen asleep under some tree or other, in the forests near the Institute of War, after a particularly long match, having to fight Lee Sin.

Yes. That monk. Arrogant. Presumed he could change Udyr. Tame his wild spirits. Udyr thought....otherwise.

Anyway. This was not....where he was. He was in a strange, metallic room, like those in Piltover. He was lying on a bed, with a light over him and a table and cabinet on the opposite wall, with the door next to the cabinet.
Ah, yes. Rise and shine, shaman. Rise and shine.
A voice spoke out to him. Udyr couldn't identify it, although it sounded similar. Talon or some such assassin had a voice like that. Deep. Growling. Yet this one had...a strange quality to it.

Udyr spoke, in order to find out who had summoned him.
"Who summons the Spirit Walker? We are not some tool for you to play with, regardless of-
"And you say the summoners of the Institute of War don't do the same thing? I know all about you, Spirit Walker. You are...a fascinating person indeed."

Udyr growled, but stayed silent. When the voice determined Udyr wasn't going to respond, it continued.
"Now, Udyr. I have selected you for a particular purpose, not unlike your stint at the League of Legends. I have selected you, with two other individuals, to fight for me, in a small tournament."

The shaman considered this for a short moment.
"And what if we refuse?"
"I send you back to Valoran and take someone else. Preferably Cho'Gath or Mordekaiser this time, I like them."
"...and what if we accept?"
"If you accept, and I win, then you shall be granted immeasurable power, beyond your imagination. You could use it to protect the Freijord. Or whatever."

Udyr considered the consequences of accepting. He had been teleported from Valoran to fight in a strange tournament not unlike the League of Legends, and offered a chance to leave. If he did...then some beast like Renekton, Malzahar, or gods forbid, Cho'Gath might gain the power. If he didn't, and they succeeded, he might gain more power to protect the Freijord than the League had given him.

Udyr decided.
"Where do we begin?"
"Excellent choice, Spirit Walker. Excellent choice."

Just putting this out here so there isn't a need for a lot of editing.

A note to the players: Until the battle with them, the Grandmasters are completely unknown in-universe.  While you 'see' them before each match, they will be in thick robes that disguise who they are.  Their identities are concealed, due to having never been beaten before, and the memories of their opponents of the fight are removed.  Because of how 'long' it has been (as well as some hidden factors), the Grandmasters will likely seem a bit out-of-character from their source characters.

Looks like votes have changed around.  To those who want the Grandmasters to be weaker, what is it you think I should modify?  Note: I have one back-up, now: Laura Croft.
