Game mechanics information dump time!
Alright, so, as far as character creation goes, feel free to pick any race and class from any of the books. As far as the alignments go, pick from the neutral and good rows of the old 3x3 board (lawful good, neutral good, chaotic good, lawful neutral, true neutral, chaotic neutral). Deity worship is up to you. I'd prefer that ability scores aren't rolled, because rolling can result in a highly under- or over-powered character. I will be doing all of the rolls myself for skill checks, attacks, and damage, to ensure honesty. Battle grids will be square grids.
My goal is to have 2-3 updates per day, whether it be combat or non-combat. Update frequency will depend on how often all of the players' actions are in, plus how often I am online. There will be days when you might get one update, and there will be days where you might get 4 or more updates. It all depends on timing.
In addition, some extra fun stuff:
Improvisation is highly encouraged. If you can come up with a good reason for being able to do something, and I like it, I'll typically allow it. However, ideas have to be run by me first.
The story direction will be highly influenced by the choices of the players. Right now, I have a general plot in mind, but if you guys decide to go against it, I am prepared to toss it out and work out a new one.
You will be fighting enemies and dealing with things that aren't in any of the 4E handbooks. Improvisation is your friend.
I will not purposefully kill the party. If a situation arises where a TPK is imminent, I reserve the right to use DM fiat to save your asses.
I request an updated character sheet from each of you each time you level. This gives me an idea of what you guys are capable of, so that I can plan accordingly for maximum fun potential.
This is Bay12. There will be shenanigans. I will be disappointed if there are not.
