Which of these options would you like to use while the Mythic Greece Mod is still being built?

Use neither Mythos Major nor Mythos Minor as test maps until the game is finished
Use only Mythos Major as a test map, saving Mythos Minor for the finished game
Use only Mythos Minor as a test map, saving Mythos Major for the finished game
Use both Mythos Minor and Mythos Major as test maps until the game is finished
Another option entirely that I will immediately post below because otherwise I just wasted my vote

Sounds good, I suppose I'll get on the creation of the modified werecurses.

Not exactly sure how I'm going to go about the implementation of Enyo... I'm thinking sort-of transformations. During wars, she's been known to play both sides just so that there would be additional bloodshed... I was thinking, a series of interactions that transform creatures into "Flock of Enyo", which is one race with many castes, one for each civilized race and one for Enyo herself, and give all the non-Enyo creatures the Crazed tag. Since we may or may not have undead, Crazed works better, since it makes them hostile to everything that isn't Enyo or a Flock of Enyo, and therefore simulates Opposed To Life while even making them anti-undead. Then just make one interaction per race, have it require that race to be the interaction target, and transform them into the corresponding caste. Boom. Enyo has an army.

It's too bad that you can't just give the Crazed tag via syndrome / interactions, though. I would prefer to not have to use transformations, as they cause full-healing, but I suppose that would be a necessary sacrifice. Plus, it allows for more bloodshed: kill the target nearly to death, then transform them just in time, healing them up and allowing them to kill in your name, plus allowing them to die a second time. Baboom.

The crazed tag does work without a transformation; I used it in an "enrage" effect for a spellcaster class in my Spellcrafts mod*, and when enrage was used on targets they would become hostile to their surroundings. The CRAZED tag doesn't take effect in arena, though, only in-game. You would still have to use a transformation into the same species so your flock doesn't destroy itself, though.

*I haven't updated Spellcrafts for that class yet though.

Suppose the enraged effect trigged a script to also have dfhack use "tweak makeown" on the effected individual, making them basically pets of Enyo, (which usually seems to be the case in mythology when gods choose mortals anyway)

Edit: I've only used this during fort mode, so I don't know if it would work during Arena or Adventurer mode

Sounds good to me. Make sure all the islands are the right shape too. Ithica is a peninsula now for one.

That wouldn't help the fact that they'd still be crazed and thus attack anything around them that isn't both crazed and one of the same species. Enyo would be having a bad day

Anyway, I have the langauge file prepared. I inserted the Greek roots form your link into their appropriate places (word for god is now theos for example.) Overall, it all looks Greek to me. I'll upload it in a moment.

The crazed tag itself works without a transformation. However, I'm fairly certain that, since you can't CE_ADD_TOKEN:CRAZED (unless that's changed since the wiki was updated last), transforming the target into a caste that is Crazed remains the only way to actually MAKE them Crazed.

Unless you're using DFhack shenanigans.

Looks pretty much invincible, sackhead.  Two minor things pop out at me though:

1) God's blood was a "golden ichor", (probably like blood plasma without platelets) instead of Carmine which is a deep reddish purple if memory serves.

2) I'm not familiar with any references that the blood of deities caused necrosis on those that spilt it.  It's an interesting idea, but I'd feel more comfortable sticking that in here if we had some references to Greek Myths that mention a similar effect.  (Besides, it adds more color having random quotations here there and everywhere anyway, right?)

Also, I was looking up the references to the liver being the seat of consciousness, because that was tickling me as being slightly wrong - turns out the Greeks had the Heart be the seat of the soul and the Etruscans of Tuscany (Italy) were the ones who believed in the liver being the seat of the soul.  Both thought that the brain was used as a filter to dissipate a body's "heated passion" which allowed "cool logic" to prevail, though.

So how hard would it be to switch the tag that allows people to one-shot the brain to the heart instead?

Paaaad:  If you can specifically name any problems you see with the map's geography, I'll get that changed too.

Anybody know if the "peasant - hero - demigod" list can have "god" added to it?  If so, the god stats that sackhead drew up could be used.

I suppose they could be used as another option like "race outsider" too.  Since each deity has a specific look and power structure, we could even make them a single race apiece, not to be used in world gen, but able to be spawned as an adventurer with all their requisite powers intact as a racial value.  They'd become a race consisting of one individual.  That would make a God's immortality easy to synthesize - if their body was somehow killed, they'd just spawn a new one on their next turn.  We'd have to be careful to only have one version of a God active in the world at any one time though - An army of spawned then retired Atlas's would seem a bit much to stomach, for instance.

Wikipedia says
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichor
Quote
Ichor originates in Greek mythology, where it is the ethereal fluid that is the Greek gods' blood, sometimes said to retain the qualities of the immortal's food and drink, ambrosia or nectar.[1] It was considered to be golden in color, as well as lethally toxic to mortals. Great demigods and heroes occasionally attacked gods and released ichor, but gods rarely did so to each other in Homeric myth.

they will be a hell of alot tougher then humans but not invisable like bronze colossus because they can suffer organ damage and blead
also with blood i had no idea what to change it to. the display color is the same as god so when you blead you will spray yelow poisonous goo everywhere

Works for me.  Maybe the color would be "GOLDENROD", but I stand corrected on the toxicity of the blood.  Good work.
Woe betide the mortal who wishes to harm one of the great gods, for surely they will wither and die... - I like it.

I was looking around the net to see if anyone had actually just done a translation of the English words to Greek, but apparently not.  Thanks, Zoolimar and Eric for our mortals' langauge files.

So how hard would it be to switch the tag that allows people to one-shot the brain to the heart instead?

In body_default, there exists the following entry:

Code: [Select]
[BODY:BRAIN]
[BP:BRAIN:brain:STP][CONTYPE:HEAD][THOUGHT][INTERNAL][SMALL][CATEGORY:BRAIN]
[DEFAULT_RELSIZE:200]

The [THOUGHT] tag is what controls this behavior. Any creature instantly dies if all body parts with [THOUGHT] are sufficiently damaged or severed from the body, unless [NO_THOUGHT_CENTER_FOR_MOVEMENT] is present somewhere. (Or [NOTHOUGHT], but this prevents movement, obviously, rendering the creature to become like a giant sponge.)

A similar entry exists for the heart organ. If it is desired that all creatures everywhere exhibit this behavior, then you can simply move the [THOUGHT] tag from the brain to the heart. If only certain creatures require this behavior, then you can create a new body part called [BODY:GREEK_BRAIN] without [THOUGHT] and [BODY:GREEK_HEART] with [THOUGHT], and swap out the appropriate parts in creatures you wish to exhibit this behavior.

I am entirely inept when it comes to DFhack. My syndrome just uses CE_ADD_TOKEN and the crazed tag takes effect just fine.

Oh, and zoolimar: civilians are going to need some basic pants or legwear, or they will otherwise tantrum to death.
