Which of these options would you like to use while the Mythic Greece Mod is still being built?

Use neither Mythos Major nor Mythos Minor as test maps until the game is finished
Use only Mythos Major as a test map, saving Mythos Minor for the finished game
Use only Mythos Minor as a test map, saving Mythos Major for the finished game
Use both Mythos Minor and Mythos Major as test maps until the game is finished
Another option entirely that I will immediately post below because otherwise I just wasted my vote

I know already how you could make the animal-people work. First of all, it would be trivial to go into the raws and delete all the offending creatures.

It's even easier than that. Just go into "c_variation_default.txt" and add [CV_REMOVE_TAG:BIOME] and [CV_REMOVE_TAG:SAVAGE] to the animal people definitions (both of them). Now they won't show up at all as wildlife populations and you can call on them when needed for other things.

...I have decided I will choose Dionysus, as he seems like a crazy-FUN guy.

And may my Maenads be cursed with "madness" similar to husks or thralls (not necessarily as tough, but as crazy) that rove the countryside, slaughtering all they come upon and raising the dead in unholy rituals. :P

Well, Dionysus, if you want to raise the dead, better talk to Hades about making a deal - That's his territory after all.  As for me, since I'm this game's Moderator I'll play the parts of the Moirai.  They're older than the Gods/Goddesses other players can choose from, so that leaves the field wide open.

Looks like an extremely interesting adventurer succession game, PTW. I might sign up for a turn later.

I've been "pruning" the size of the world-map down by the least voted sizes and we're down to a tie between "Large or "Medium".  What's interesting is that after playing around with world generation for a bit now, I've finally gotten a north facing glacier on both large and medium and have found to my dismay that more than half the map is a frozen forest/tundra, which won't do at all.  Either I'll have to monkey around with different temperature settings, increasing the default min/max temperature to generate the "mediteranean scrubland" which historically existed in much of this map, or I'll have to gen a new map including "Hyperborea" (Germany).

I invite the community to discuss which option they would prefer.

This has nothing to do with the game, I just thought you guys would enjoy it:

Sign me up as Pan, speaking of which: perhaps satyrs should be controllable?

Pan: if you look at Dionysius' description, you'll see his entourage are maenids and satyrs.  Your pseudo-FB will share the satyr form but have godly attributes instead.  Using DFhack's permanent forced change in adventurer mode should allow you to claim your "true body".  As for making satyrs a class of demigod adventurers - I don't know of any Greek myths about satyr heroes.  If you know of some that do, however, I'd be convinced to add satyrs as adventurers.

I have to manage the satyrs too? Bloody hell, that means the Foul Blendecs too. Those guys are just plain ugly. And the smell!

And of course Hades gets first say in the usage of undead as minion material. Hmm... I can't think of any ideas for the maenads' curses right now.

For the maenids, I was thinking a "Dionysius Syndrome" might be your best bet.  Something like this for instance:

However, I'm a noob when it comes to modding - do you see any problems with this?

Not particularly, but it also isn't especially interesting. I will think on it, and write up my own interaction to suit my particular... Interests.

Great idea.

You others who have offered to play should do the same - think about what kinds of abilities your god (or titan) is known to have in Greek mythology so we can mod it into the game.
