Okay here are my recommendations!

Quote
Prototype Name: SVA-25
Points Available: 10
Damage: 4 ( +4 from cartridge.)
Accuracy: 3 (+3 from sights) + 2 points = 5
Perks Available:
Reliable: ( 2 Points )
Cheap: ( 3 Points )
Long-Range: ( 3-Points)

Quote
Project Name: AIA Gun.
Points available: 6
Damage: 12
Accuracy: 8 + 4 points = 12
Perks Available:
Smoke: ( 2 Points )

Assign 5 Engineers to develop a robust frame for our new Gunship. I believe having a modular design that will allow for easy upgrades later will save us a lot of headache. While AA guns are nice, we're going to need traditional weapons on a similar frame as well I imagine.
Quote
Name: Gunship
Size: 6
Armour: 3
Armament: 12 40mm Anti-Air guns. Damage 5, accuracy 40, size 0.25 ea.
Perks:
Robust Frame

Transfer 1 Engineer to the University to specialize in Tank Design.

Propose Blue Print:
Quote
Name: LAT-35
Number Of Engineers: 5
Workspace: 5
What It Is: a simple light AT gun. 35mm. Relies on trucks, trains or horses to be moved great distances, but has wheels so can be pushed into new positions by it's crew. Should not be difficult to operate or too bulky.

Name: KM-50
Number Of Engineers: 4
Workspace:4
What It Is: 13mm (.50 calibre) belt fed, air cooled HMG used on vehicles or as tripod/pillar mounted defensive weapons. Should have a RPM of about 620 and can be fitted with a high capacity, left mounted ammo box for quick reloads and better reliability. Can also be fitted with a water-tight sleeve and solid barrel for conversion into a water cooled gun.
Firing Method: Gas Operation
Belt Length: 200-400 rounds of ammunition
Sights: Fixed blade (front sight), adjustable notch (rear sight)

Name: KM-300
Number Of Engineers: 2
Workspace: 2
What It Is: This is a 7.62x70mm (.300 Lapua Magnum) platoon support weapon (similar to the American .30 Cal) that is designed as a fairly accurate area denial, long range support weapon that can be crewed by 2 men.
Firing Method: Gas Operated
Magazine Size: 100 round belts or 70 round box mags.
Sights: Fixed blade (front sight), adjustable notch (rear sight)

Name: MN-10
Number Of Engineers: 2
Workspace: 2
What It Is: This is a 7.62x70mm (.300 Lapua Magnum) bolt action box fed sniper rifle.
Firing Method: Gas Operated
Magazine Size: 10-30 round mags
Sights: Fixed blade (front sight), adjustable scope (rear sight) which has magnification ability up to x8 (so it can go x1, x2, x4, x6 and x8 normal sight).

I like the detail you're putting into the small arms designs!

Can we queue them up for next turn, so we can have our engineer trained in tank design and have enough engineers for the robust hull of the gunship?

Might work better, we need to get atleast a basic plan into production as well, as we currently have an airforce with no planes.

13mm (.50 calibre)
Actually, .50-caliber is 12.7mm. 13mm would probably be about .52-caliber.

Typical 1920s Soviet rifle and MG rounds would be 7.62x54mmR (Mosin-Nagant) and 12.7x108mm (real-life DShK heavy MG). It would probably be easier to use an existing cartridge instead of developing a whole new round. That could be saved until later.

New Weapon:
Quote
Name: PP-26 (I'm basing the digits off the current year)
No. of Engineers: 2
Work Space: 2
What It Is: Submachine Gun
Cartridge: 7.62x25mm Tokarev (standard pistol round of 1920s USSR)
Firing Method: Straight Blowback
Magazine Size: 32 rounds
Sights: Fixed front blade, adjustable rear U-notch

The weapon should probably be made with as few parts as mechanically possible, to increase production rates, and be made mostly out of stamped sheet metal, to reduce production costs.

A variant of this weapon could employ a folding stock for paratrooper units (when we get aircraft), and a variant with a fixed stock for use by general infantry. A heavy-weight bolt should be used to keep the rate-of-fire controllable.

Apply the same prototype testing method used for the SVA-25.

(( I'd suggest we focus more on armored support and less on infantry guns.

Having a nice infantry gun won't help much against tanks, cannons, planes or ships.

All of which we are sorely lacking. ))

Seems pretty advanced for 1920's tank doctrine. I was developing the LAT-35 this turn and having an engineer sent to specialize in tanks so that we could potentially fit it in a small light tank like the MS-1 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-18_tank

Not sure how realistic kingfisher wants to keep this, but something like that would be much closer to something built at the time.[quote

Yeah, way too many projects on the go at the moment. I'd vote for my plans above and add in the humming bird plane design for this turn. We can start on the small arms/tanks next year?
