Don't steal from your crazy employer. Just take the Stone and Bitch out.

Buy the Tree of Creation and Black Hand Jack's Journal with your store credit and refund.

^ This. Including buying choices.

Consult with Charlie and see if we can secretly add a ward that will explode the tower with a command word if we need to. Always good to have a trump.
A self-destruct button is a horrible, horrible idea.

-1

But what if our feud doesn't go away and we find ourselves at mortal odds with an archmage? What if we further offend/injure/injure+offend his daughter? We should have a catch-all backup plan. Blow his a** up inside his own tower.

At any rate, after buying Black Hand Jack's Book of Whack Majack, we should prepare some kind of protective circle to read it in. While we are outside the circle. Callously reading ancient tomes of dark magic is often eventful, exciting, and fatal.

May I also suggest recharging our mana? I recall it being nearly empty.
Wait, you meant the archmage's tower? I thought you meant our own. I'm fine with it in the archmage's tower.

The Archmage seems like a decent guy. He could have murdered our shit back when we home invaded him if he wanted to, but he didn't. If he was at the point where he wanted us dead, we would be dead. He even gave us the warding job in spite of our transgressions. He seems to be the type who would be reasonable enough to run us out of town before killing us.

I'm sure after the incident, he'd have lectured his daughter to leave us alone. So we shouldn't have to worry about that feud either.

The self destruct just isn't worth the risk of detection. Besides, Charlie wants in the Wizard Guild. He might rat us out to earn favor with the Archmage.

Read Black Handed Jack's Journal as far away from the Monster Gate thingy as possible.

Take the Spiral Stone and the blue powder, and then press the pink button.

The BLUE POWDER is, unless you are mistaken, ESSENCE OF SALT. It is the platonic ideal of salt itself, and is very valuable.
It probably dropped out of one of these holes, so CRAZY DAVE shouldn't have any problem with you taking it.

You take the SPIRAL STONE. Quest item obtained! Now you just have to return it.
The SEARCHING LIGHT dissipates as soon as you move it from the pedestal.

Did you feel something?

It was probably nothing. You retrieve the TELESWITCH and press the pi- OH SHIT YOU'RE FALLING!

AHHHHHHHHHHH

AHHHHHHHHHHH

AHH- *THUMP*

->

->

->

A dune of SAND cushions your fall.

You seem to have dropped the TELESWITCH while you were hurtling through a hole in reality at terminal velocity.
You should probably find it before you are accosted by an END-OF-DUNGEON BOSS MONSTER.

->

You are accosted by a GIANT ENEMY CRAB.

What will you do?

Well, duh. What else would we aim for, the abdomen? The cephalothorax kinda blocks it...

Well, clearly we should first compliment the crab on it's quiant moushtache, and then pummel it to dust.

Draw your sword. Put the last of your magic into a swiftness spell if possible. We should be able to kite a big slow crab and pick it to pieces, especially with a speed boost.

Have Squishy turn into that first bug we encountered with the crushing jaws. Instruct it to bite off legs.

Don't forget to take back as many crab bits as possible. It could be valuable or good for crafting.

Climb onto the crab, using Squishy as a climbing aid. From the crab's back, stab it repeatedly.

I think that would result in us bleeding out of our eyes again.

Use some lightning magic for this, it just climbed out of the ocean, so that should fry it nicely.
