Those new trees are great. Flooding the world with magma causes branches to cave-in on enemy heads!
I'm not so sure about how cool they are though. I just had a group of elven siegers who spawned with legendary climbing skills climb right over my wall and paratrooper down onto my crossbow dwarves.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!
Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead - A fun zombie survival rougelike that I'm dev-ing for.

I'm trying to weaponize fruit. It falls out of trees and gives my militia multiple concussions. If it is so dangerous to my own dwarves, it must be useful for warfare.

I'm modding a tree which drops toxic fruit, for just such an occasion. Bombs away!

Also, an old adventurer I retired got married and had several kids before I bothered to unretire them. He also became the mayor of the town. Can't wait 'til you can actually adventure AS your old adventurers' descendants!

Encountered a weird bug - if you fast travel into a goblin-occupied town that you have visited before, all the occupying forces are replaced by creatures drawn from cavern populations.

My peasant uprisings keep getting put down by rutherers and a swarm of crundles just ate the mayor.

100% reproduce rate for me, anyone else?

Man, I wish .34.13 would come out! What's taking so long, Toady?

(the next version is pretty much 100% going to be xy.01, where x is almost certainly 3 and maybe 4)

(my bet's on 38.01)

He's probably fighting the innumerable legions of Mr. Smiths DF keeps making in world gen.

Found a new beast in the depths. A Mawer. Says it scoops up grass with its gigantic maw, and that it's harmless. So... it's a Lawnmawer?

I think that might be a bug. Grass growing underground comes next version.

Anyone else find that Toady erred too far on the side of caution with pulping? Embarked on a savage map full of zombie hippos and my dabbling marksdwarves keep one-shotting them with bone bolts.

I can't wait for 2014. Does anyone have a release date?

I found a human city named Sleevevirgins. It was easily the biggest city in the world, so clearly I wasn't the first person to come inside the city's walls.

We're only up to the fourth bugfix release, it'll probably be a while until there's new content.

In other news...
Generated a world. My parent dwarf civilisation only had one site, which was the capital.
I embarked, set up my fortress.
The other dwarf site was conquered by goblins during play.
So my fortress became the capital site.
My mayor was promoted all the way to King.

Retired the fortress with a few cages of captive goblins connected to a lever.
Made an adventurer, returned to the fortress.
Pulled the lever.
Due to bug #773071, caged creatures in a retired fortress become entity members. But they remain hostile.

Loyalty cascade, civil war ensues.
By the end of it, my adventurer is the last dwarf standing, and therefore is made King. Of a civilisation of one. Of which, because of the loyalty cascade, he is an enemy.

Did I just win Dwarf Fortress?

Bug: When a creature with high enough stats jumps, it can hit the sky barrier.
Bug2: A creature can reaction-dodge falling damage.
