Besides our clothes, what did we have to leave behind?

As you shimmy down the side of the building, it dawns on you that you have left your armor behind.

For a moment you consider heading back for it but then you realize how difficult it would be to find it in blazing remains of the hotel.
Cursing your forgetfulness, you check the rest of assets, but find nothing of any great importance missing.

That armour is irreplaceable. We're a cyborg so we can handle the heat. We'll tell Nicolette to handle the cultists while we retrieve our armour.

That armour is irreplaceable. We're a cyborg so we can handle the heat. We'll tell Nicolette to handle the cultists while we retrieve our armour.
A few streets away.

"What do you mean go back?" Nicolette gasps as you explain.

"The armour was a gift, i can't just leave it behind.
I have an idea, you just keep these cultists off me"

You quickly strip the robes from a dead cultist, and sequester your weapons under the voluminous folds.

Pulling the veil up over your damaged face, you return to the crowed streets.
Anonymous you push your way thru the crowds as you make your way to the hotel.

The hotel is all most completely ablaze, with flames reaching high in to the sky.

With a deep breath, you charge in to the smokey inferno.

The heat almost blinds you, making you stumble over the debris as make your way up stairs.

As you reach the door to your room, you scream in pain as molten remains of your nylon tights roll down your legs.

With gritted teeth, you open the door and retrieve the armour, snatching up the pieces from the smouldering wooden draws.

Sputtering from the smoke, you stagger out of building, to the sound of gunfire in the distance.

The armour is blacked and the inside is badly charred.

Holding the damaged armour you consider your next move..

Regroup with Nicolette, jack someone's car, and GET TO DA CHOPPA!

Ditching the robes in a dustbin, you pull open the door of the first car you find, and raise you pistol to the driver’s face.

"Just wait the car, get out!" you speak in a flat robotic monotone as you rack your pistols side.

The driver quickly clambers out the passenger side door.
You drive off in the faded red minivan to the sound track of rattling engine.

40 minutes later , your helicopter.
------------

A blood spattered Nicolette lies slumped in the back of helicopter, her chest covered in bandages.

She weakly weaves at you with a heavy bandaged hand as you enter the helicopter.

"The lass is bady wouned, right, but she is tough bint.
Her left lung 'as collapsed, right, and she's lost 'er ringg finger. "
Doctor Barret states as he stands over her.
" So yor luvr confind ter bed, 'till she recovers.
so cop her some flowers or somfink ter keep 'er 'appy. "

Angry at the cultists you stare out across the desert, ploting..

We need to get some radiation protection. Ask the voices about how to get environmental resistance upgrades.

"So do you have a plan for them?" Shinju asks as she lights her cigarette with a flash of purple flame.
"Other than putting every last one of them deep in ground? No, but that's never stop us before." you lean back on the helicopter.
"No that hasn't, So what's the plan this time? A all out fount assault? A stealth attack come night fall?" she smiles slightly as here eyes shift from blue to green.

"I was planing just to attack them, the less we plan the less we can screw up.
Now remember back when this lot of cultists tried to use you as a hostage?"
"How could i ever forget that night? what about it?" Shinju shrugs as she takes another puff.

Do you recall the priestess? she used magic and i'm aware that if this one tries any funny stuff that you'll have to be the one to deal with her."
----
"You asked for something to stop the radiation?.
Well this is what i've come up with, one wraparound lead vest with a skirt, then there's this helmet the visors been impregnated with lead and there an air fed mask in case of dust.
Do you thin it'll been enough?" Claudia smiles as she lays the equipment out on the helicopter floor.

"Well thats better than any thing i've been able to come up with.
Now lets get ready to even up the score..."

Theirs a reptilian grin on Claudia face as you lay out the plan.

Hit em' from the front with a tank, hit em from the back with the armoured cars, drop in some heavy cyborgs with the helicopter, and everyone else stays on standby. We in particular will keep an eye on the sky, ready to spot and shoot down any rockets or missiles that are fired at the helicopter.

EDIT: The lead suit will work fine.

"I want them finished, All of them..."

A deep steady rumbling slowly rises, getting faster like a mechanical pulse as your tank rises up the final sand dune.

Theres a flash of purple lighting, that darts from Shinju gloved hands, searing across the night silently as the attack starts.

With the engine roaring and guns thundering, the tank smashes it's way deep in to there encampment.
You can see dozens of cultists futilely trying to stop the tracked war machine with small arms.

One brave or more likely crazy cultist, manages to hit the tank with a petrol bomb, burning the work.

As the middle sandbag bunkers erupts in a fountain of sand and human gore, the slow hum of your helicopter draw closer behind you.

It starts to orbit around the camp, looking for a place to drop off it passengers.

As the helicopter starts to descend there's a thunderous burst of fire as an auto cannon opens fire.

Explosive shells smack in to the tail, shredding it in half.

You silence the cannon with a single bullet as the shattered remains of the helicopter spin violently as they plummet to the ground.

From your vantage point you can't see much, smoke and flames cover the battle field, but what you can see is disturbing.

You catch sight of the one of the heavy cyborgs as he tear a cultists arm off, retching it from the socket like a over cooked chicken's leg.

Without even blinking the remaining cultists throw them selves at the inhuman cybernetic behemoth, trying to over whelm him by shear weight of numbers.

From the sounding slopes, a constant barrage of bullets and burning lasers hammer in to encampment as the cultists defiantly engage to in a brutal and unequal battle.

By the time your slow relentless pounding ends the camp is utterly destroyed with only smouldering remains left behind.

Ok i'll do causality and injurys next turn, but for now is there any you want to do other than reactivating the space ship?

Check the biggest building/tent in the camp. That's where the higher-ups would be and where they'd keep the magical artifacts.

Check the biggest building/tent in the camp. That's where the higher-ups would be and where they'd keep the magical artifacts.

You head inside biggest building, if there's any of the leader ship left then this is where they'd be.

"Shinju! in here! Lets dig out the last of them!" you call the sorceress over as you head inside.

Inside the air is full of the stink of Cordite and blood, bodys lie scattered around still clutching there weapons.

"Well you first, i remember last time.." Shinju pats you on the shoulder and you head deeper inside.

The walls change, tapestry cover the sand bags and rugs appear on the floor as you reach then center.

Opening the door you find what may be the remains of the priestess.
Her naked body lies on the floor, twisted from the waist down as both legs are fused in to a giant snake tail.
A trio of blood soaked flechettes are skewed thru her chest.

"So scratch her off the list, every body's jackie, we did it, there all gone.
Lets see what can we loot and get out of here." heading Shinju comments start looking for things to take.

You smash open a wooden jewellery box, in amongst the rings and chains, you find a dozen glass vials labelled Ephemerol.

The katana with a snake head pommel by the door way is indicative of the general quality of the loot, cheap and near useless.

-----
Causality are light

"Well you've been lucky, Sylvia should be dead right now, if she was human then this would of finished her off.
As it is she just had half her face and throat lacerated by shrapnel."

Barret keeps on stitching as he speaks, slowly getting the ragged strips of reptilian skin back in to something like a face.

"This is going to take weeks to heal, and even then she'll need surgery to repair her Temporomandibular joint.
Nicholas's right arm is burnt to a crisp, so i'm going to have to do most of a Forequarter amputation and that before it comes to the gunshot wounds."

You leave Barret to his job and head back to sealing the leaking reactor.

Let's put on our lead suit, grab some tools, and fix that reactor! We might want to see the doctor about getting some proper medical aid first, though. Our stitching might've been less than professional.

It's late and the dawn is rising when you get Dr Barret to check your old wounds.

"Ah yes theres the problem, these sutures are nylon, that means there going to have to be removed manually.
Still you have a few  more day until you'll be healed enough for that.
Really what i'm concerned with is the depth of the injury's your developing hypertrophic scars, but that's the cosmetic surgeon in me speaking."

---
Working in shifts, you manage to seal reactor, blazing large thick sheets of lead over the holes.

With the radiation contained you finally have a opportunity to really look around the space ship...
