So I decided to give this a go, thanks to the suggestion from CognitiveDissonance, so I shall give you all a run down of the settings I've used and link the Let's Play!

Blank Plays: Fallen Enchantress Episode 1

Firstly here are some screen shots of the settings I've used as well as the Custom Race so you can get a feel for what I'm using:

My custom Race, The Kingdom of Volltur:

I'd gone with this mainly as I get to choose some of the more powerful and useful traits, such as Wealthy, Hardy and Brilliant. Which basically makes it so I can lower unrest at the start of the game by having zero taxes and help force growth and production up as quickly as possible.

The settings I used for the map are thus:

So let me know what you guys think, I eventually plan on scalling things up and taking on the largest map in the game with a full 8 opponents to see if I can win, I proberbly won't but hopefully I'll weave an epic tale for the Kingdom of Volltur!

If you get in over your head, air wizards with shrink are hilariously broken (unless they've fixed that in patching.) Turning every large opponent in the game, including the final quest boss tiny and harmless was amusing, but a bit OP for a 4-mana spell.

EDIT2: I like your Let's Plays! Currently going through Lone Survivor, as I myself had a lot of fun with that game. One of the creepiest experiences on PC...

Right episode 2 has been recorded and I seem to be entirely preoccupied with the idea of war!

Firstly, I shall talk about the episode, mainly as I have this fancy picture I done drew up:

Basically, they way I see it is the Red is the area of the most threat, with the empire forces pushing in and where I feel the first war will kick off. The Yellow is the are occupied by the monster on the map, with the Air elemental being the major concern. With the green being the good way to either expand or scout in hope of finding allies. Which to be honest I really want some allies, hell just one other Kingdom faction on the map.

So I plan on fortifying Suurbug and then travel to the west to see if I can find fortune!

Ah, neat. Haven't played the most recent version of the game, so I don't have any particularly good advice, but I'm happy to watch.

Always nice to hear, since that is the main reason you do videos, so people can watch!

As far as I know I think both shrink and growth are pretty much badass, due to reducing/improving damage. Still I don't know if they've been nerfed either, but if I can get hold of someone to cast it I definitely will.

Awww yes! Seems like me playing Fallen Enchantress has paid off! Still Lone Survivor is one of my older works, and the whole game is just slightly off putting. Awesome, but still unnerving enough to notice as you play.

The map pack DLC I would say is worth it, especially for the huge map. I still can't get my head around hard it's going to be to play, still that's why I am building up to it. Now the expansion beta thing on the other hand I know nothing about. I hope you enjoy the next episode!

Finished your Lone Survivor LP. I got as far as the Mother, but for some reason stopped there. Not sure why.
The ending... screwed with my mind. The psych report did the rest. I haven't considered the implications of what's REALLY going on, and looking at the Wiki confirmed it.

This was my interpretation, echoed by others. SHE was fatally injured in a bus crash. YOU had problems coping with it, and the game happens in a fantasy/terror in YOUR head. As you progress, the good/bad reflect on how YOUR mind is doing. The green ending implies you recovered. If you are not as sane, well, you do not recover and die from suicide or injuries. This whole thing is a terrible, terrible dream. Gave me flashbacks to the first time I played through American McGee's Alice.

Thanks for that LP, and I'm on to watching something saner now, like this the newest episode of FE

Episode 3 is up and away, I feel like I didn't make much progress, rather just confirm how bad things really are!

The potential alliance with Resoln might help save me in the long term, especially if I can secure it and make war with Yithril and fast. I don't want them to expand beyond what they already are. Plus taking a couple extra towns will help me massively, allowing me to expand and increasing my influence. Though I feel all this will come to light in the next episode.

I do eventually plan on getting it now, since I've also started playing FE in my spare time as well, I'm having more fun than you'd think playing it and for $20 it's a steal.

As for lone survivor I ended up resorting to the Wiki, in order to get some answers, as I was left a little curious after finishing the LP. I think it was trying to show no matter how well you did it was still a bad ending and you are struggling to cope. Which is not all to common in modern games, unless they are trying to be edgy or cool (Re: Bioshock Infinite), or worse have a really Black/White morality system. Plus American Mcgee's Alice, even if a little mad, is awesome!

I read it and honestly I have to ask... is it REALLY an expansion? It is stand alone but there is nothing on what it adds to the base game.

There are a few minor things, like the bigger map sizes and skill systems regarding hero's as well as how you recruit them. They've also thrown in a few new spells and a couple graphical upgrades. Sure not a whole lot, but at least they are asking for it at a reduced price (for those who own Fallen Enchantress anyway). Which is why it's being billed as a Expandalone. Still I can't help agree that most of what they added could have been patched in.

I would say no to both of those questions, rather I think it's an attempt to fix the game. As some aspect of the game were not perfect, and the community either loved or hated Fallen Enchantress it seems. Still I would bill this as an improvement on the base game now I've had a chance to play it. Though it has its own bugs still, hence the Beta status.

Blank Plays Fallen Enchantress Episode 4

I'm beginning to suspect I launched into a war to early, I also think I ruined my plan slightly as declaring war seems not have brought my allies to the fight. I think I needed to be attacked for that to happen, so I may have shot myself in the foot there. Still I believe it to be winnable, just it is going to take a lot more strategy than I was hoping for.

This kinda illustrates what I am thinking, I think I can get away with defending Aduso indefinitely, but I don't want to be stuck in a stale mate. So I am going to move the armies of Suurbug round to support and hopefully take his capital in one sweep. Since I don't think he can handle my entire army in one position. Though we will have to find this out the hard way.
