I'll purchase NOTHING! Ahahahaha!

Military chips, to me, are useless...they cost upkeep, are worth the same amount as upkeep, and could lead to very bad war. Money catastrophe is not as bad as war catastrophe. Although, I suppose, it works in a scorched earth kind of way; if you end up folding, not only do your enemies only get half as many, but that's upkeep they have to pay. And money, on the other hand, could be used to buy nukes.

Spies are meh. They have their uses if you're trying to incite an incident. Somewhat good cost to point value.

Nukes are dangerous. 7d6 - 1d6 is not the same as 6d6. It's unlikely(as in less than a tenth of a percent) but possibly that the limit becomes one. One. They are very good for their cost.

On other chips, I think we all saw that countries are quite valuable, and economies are things we should build up for wealth,as I doubt anyone will be risking losing any more countries again.

And money...nobody's bet money, strangely(maybe not) enough.

let's heat up this cold war. I'm dropping 2 militaries in the pot, and calling a forced bet.

How are you calling a forced bet when you only put two points in the pot, and thus haven't even matched anyone?

Hrmm, do you have to have the highest total to call a forced bet?

You have to match the person who bet before you, at least.

You have to match the person who bet before you, at least.
Didn't we just go trough this discussion last turn? No, you don't. The big blind ("beginner" in MAD) needs to put exactly 5 chips, and the small blind ("next player") need to match him or bet more. Everyone else can do as they please. A 'forced bet' mean you must match the player who called it, or fold.
relevant quotes:
The beginner must bet chips worth 5 points to start the turn. The next player must then bet chips with the same or higher worth.
(The order of players will be decided by order of sign up unless the players want to agree to some other turn order.)
Afterward s, every player can raise his bet at any point he wishes to do so by any amount he wishes to. A player doesn’t need to place a bet to remain in the game, nor does a player need to bet as much as the currently highest bet.
The other would be that the first person must bid five points exactly.  Then the next player can bid any number of points above or equal to five points.

Marked the correct interpretation. Please excuse the unclear wording.

Forced Bet

At any time, a player can call for a forced bet.
All players must either fold or bet chips so that the total worth of their bet is at least that of the bet of the player who called the forced bet.
Be warned that this might easily trigger a Catastrophe.

Oh, I see. So basically, everyone has to bet or fold now?

Just like they normally would have, before?
