Mister Rogers
« on: March 16, 2013, 02:15:44 pm »

Just spreading the love around, for those of you who don't read Cracked:

http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-moments-that-prove-mr.-rogers-was-greatest-american/

The title isn't right, it should be "Human Being" instead of "American", but that doesn't matter. It's wonderful just the way it is. Let's make the most of this beautiful day!

Cracked is an abomination to information that needs to be incinerated.

However Mr. Rogers was a swell guy. This is known.

You shouldn't expect information from Cracked. The best way to treat whatever they say is as interesting topics you can actually look into yourself.

Cracked helps people get through their day with a joke and a smile, and even when they're inaccurate they do try to encourage folks to learn and grow. And that's just a wonderful thing  =D

Gonna celebrate March 20th with a sweater and hugs.

Fun game everyone, predict the five misconceptions about the American Revolution that everyone believes before reading the article! I got four out of five right, if anyone wants to try to bat perfect.

I just knew a site as popular as cracked in the OP would instantly draw derision.

Cracked is about as reliable as that one drunk guy you met at a bar who insisted he knew the dirty secret behind 9/11.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Cracked is very overrated as a source of factual and funny content.

Seanbaby is the only really funny columnist on there.  A couple others are kind of funny.

The Choose-Your-Own-Adventure articles are good. Everything else I could obtain more easily from drunken "friends": the inaccurate information, the stupid jokes, and the advice columns.

Well, even though we disagree about a humor site, you all make each day a special day.
