Everyone will lie to you at some point however. The thing is finding people who a)Don't lie much and b)Lie when of little consequence.

The difference there is the scale of sincerity.

If we couldn't lie we couldn't communicate at all.
Not at all. If we all lied all the time communication would be rendered useless, the very polar opposite itself. As we can see we still communicate, at the highest level we still have a majority of people who speak the truth the majority of the time.

There was a book I read a while back,  What Price the Moral High Ground?: How to Succeed without Selling Your Soul. It talked about how non-liars would deal only with non-liars if we knew who the liars were. Part of developing good business relationships (and relationships in general) is finding people who won't lie to us, that we can trust, and who want to develop relationships that are mutually beneficial.
If everyone could tell when someone lied then nobody would lie. It kind of defeats the point of lying if the other person knows you're lying.

What is satire, irony and sarcasm but an intricate web of lies?

That is not the kind of lying being referred to in the post I quoted.

There are multiple kinds of lies? This is the first I have heard of this.

You wouldn't be lying now would you?

There are multiple kinds of untruths. The word lie refers to untruths uttered for the purpose of deceit. Satire and irony are not for that purpose.

Are you lying to further this conversation? How does that make you feel?

I recommend that you read Nietzsche's essay "On Truth and Lies in an Extramoral Sense."  You'll probably find it edifying.

So we are doing that thing where we don't get anywhere because nobody can agree to a common set of definitions?
Ok, cool, have fun with that...

This is why I like EVE Online, in that it mirrors real life. In a universe full of liars, scammers and all-around shit-heads, your success or failure depends greatly upon finding a group of like-minded people who will help you achieve your goals and won't screw you over. Good luck.

Yes. That's why we have words for them.
