Hi there Faith..

I've been wanting to chat with you for quite some time but couldn't muster up the courage to do so..and am quite curious on what happened to you..not feeling well with seeing the synthetics and all.

You ok? :/

Quote from: Message from Faith to Feyri
Yes, I'm fine. I was underprepared, and synthflesh is considerably harder to kill than normal flesh, while remaining relatively small and very dextrous. I felt it would be preferable to the bulk of a battlesuit or continuing to be relatively unarmored.

Speaking of which, I regret not getting time to work on a better battle shield. It's an interesting concept.

How is your current gear, anyway?

Right, that's a good plan. However if-when it comes down to downright rioting, I'd at least want a covert squad to get to the basics on why they're doing that.

I don't like how this seems too straightforward. Besides, the concept of a god-king reminds me eerily of what I've learned in ancient earth history. Not good for us.

Stacy quickly pirouettes back to the messenger.

"Excuse me, dear messenger, sorry to trouble you and such, but could you repeat those directions to the groundskeeper, please? I'm afraid I forgot them. It's what I do, you see. I forget things all the time. I'll write them down this time, just in case. Sorry again, really."

Ask for directions from messenger once more. If he agrees to help, jot them down accurately. Then follow said directions to what is hopefully a groundskeeper's hut. When destination is reached, either find a groundskeeper and ask him or her about borrowing a sprayer or, if none are around, search for one in the hut and around it. If a chemical sprayer is obtained, return to glorious HMRC clubhouse. If chemical sprayer is not obtained, reflect on own Heretical ineptitude.

The Messenger gives you the sort of patient smile you'd expect from a father of a mildly brain damaged child. Rather then give you directions, he walks with you to the shack and talks to the grounds keeper in whatever his native tongue is. Moments later you have your sprayer.

...Right. Years of influence, of slavery. Darn goodness are they stuck with this notion.

Feyri nodded as the woman told of herself and what she defined herself as. It was distressing..and disconcerting how she said it with a straight face, albeit not looking directly at her.

The culture also seems to be firmly ingrained in their mannerisms.

"How shall I address you? As a servant, or as your real name? Because if the latter, then my order onto you is that you let me call you by your real name. Next, what is the time of day now? Afterwards, where are the commons? That's our destination."

Perhaps keeping it in brevity would help...

Address servant, inquire and ask.

"How do you feel about yourself? And this is an interrogative order, not a request."

"My name is Shai. It is the morning now. The common room is just below, follow the stairs down to the first floor and you will be there." She responds quickly.

"I am happy to serve."

(sounds like something from the Hubbard library.)
((I assume that's a good guess, but wrong.
Anyone else want to try and guess?))

"Okay. Will you be here later?"
After she answers, go over to where the parasite theorists are.
"What are you doing?"
"I will."

You nod and head over to the two guys cowering away from a coat.

"What are you doing?"

((I'll be using a green glow to indicate radio communication to the rest of the team.))
Charles paled. ohshitohshitohshitohshitohshitohshitohshitohshit
"Damnit... I could've sworn I saw something there. Attention all HMRC units, I suspect these uniforms may have been tampered with or otherwise sabotaged. Please carefully inspect them before putting them on. I think I saw some sort of organic contamination on it... or is the entire uniform the contaminant..."
Charles keeps his rifle aimed at the uniform, trying to examine the physiology of the parasite.
((Well, looks like the delusion is also pathogenic :P))
The parasite appears to be made of some sort of cunning fabric like material with what look like stitches holding it together, and something like buttons down it's center. Maybe eyes? Or Egg sacks.

You shudder to think what horrors lurk in those perfectly laundered recesses.

"...Huh?"
Remove and inspect uniform.
[intuition: 1-1]
Welp, thats another one, cowering in the corner.

Faith sighed again. Another elite cadre of HMRC professionals hard at work.

"Servant," she said, turning back to the servant girl. "What forms of entertainment are available here?"

Entertainment options.
"What would you like to do? We can arrange for many things; what would be your desire?"

Slowly and carefully, without blocking Controlley's line of fire, search the parasite for:
1) how it moves
2) sense organs
3) how it feeds

especially look for how to communicate with the creature, and any indicators of what it might want. we might be able to form an alliance after all.
It appears not to move...but you have no idea how it senses. Maybe those "Buttons" work as crude touch receptors. And you're almost certain it feeds by draining your life energy once you put it on.

"And I think you are going insane. Hopefully your suit will protect you in the event of any uniform related catastrophe. Do let me know if it doesn't."

Figure out how long the scout eye can remain active, and what might need to be done to recharge it. Link the scout eye to my suit display.

Try to code in a 'return to remote' program. Ideally with obstacle avoidance, though if that isn't something the scout eye can do by default, just scrap the program and make a 'land' program that will cause it to lower its altitude slowly until it hits an object, then shut off.

Ignore the uniform nonsense.

(( cause while I could write obstacle avoidance into a program, I don't want to have to prove that it's possible, and I'm betting I'll just get told 'the scout eye turns towards the remote and falls out of the sky due to the calculation load on it's tiny, wimpy processor.' ))

The scout eyes don't need to be recharged, but they do have a limit of how far they can fly before running out of fuel.

[aux:1+1+1]
You think the land program is possible, but you're not really sure where to start.

Snap out of noirness and set something on fire.
Watch what happens.

Set something on fire with the amp or try to find matches or some more conventional, less dangerous way to do it?

(("Damnit... I could've sworn I saw something there. Attention all HMRC units, I suspect these uniforms may have been tampered with or otherwise sabotaged. "Also, what kinds of fabrics do you use in making these uniforms? Do I look ok in this?" Feyri said to the servant, eying her expression and response. "Why do you only wear pants? I am unfamiliar with the dress code here, so please enlighten me."

I wonder if they're bound by honesty.

And ask this too.

((Get yer terms right. That's not pathogenic! If anything, a parasite would be symbiotic with its host. Also, it would be weird seeing a- wait, IC that.))

"Thank you for being patient with an old, forgetful man, dear messenger. You are certainly a credit to your profession. If only more people were as helpful. But now, I must bid you- ooh, ooh, wait - I would ask one more question, if I may - I would like to have a private room, if possible. And some rope - not sophisticated, mind you, just some regular stuff."

Compliment and thank kind messenger, then ask for a private room and rope, going through the necessary motions to obtain the latter if needed.

Slowly, without touching the buttons, put the uniform on. estimate the drain rate. remove it immediately if the rate reaches dangerous levels or I become tired.
Using Morse code, tap the top button in a pattern to say "do you understand this?"
if I get no response, repeat with the next button down, and so on. if I get no response from any of them of any kind, check the uniform for other sense organs.

Quote from: Message from Faith to Feyri
I suspect direct infiltration will be difficult or impossible. I agree we should ascertain their exact motivations if possible.

I doubt it will be straightforward. Recall that we are attempting to control a very large number of people, and that most of our squad is underequipped and inexperienced. I suspect we will have to be creative indeed if we hope to accomplish our mission without incident.

As for the rest, do remember that we have only just now arrived. It would be imprudent to make assumptions before we've even been briefed on the situation.
