Noooo, bad. We're a medieval prince, not Susan B. Anthony. Yes, he can marry her. If we don't, and she says no, we lose his respect and the respect of our father. We're firmly in charge. If it satisfies sentiment, we can have her whisper her wishes to us, but regardless, we should say yes.

At the least, say something like "I have no objection to your marriage."

That OOC for us. We are stated to seriously care about our sister and want her to be happy. So -1 to this. We can always say that to us our sister's happiness is more important to us that the opinion of someone we don't know. Also, if we are accused of dishonouring our family by our father, I have an entire speech up in my head.

We seriously DO care about our sister. If we're king, we can better ensure her safety than if we're a nobody like our elder brother. What we're angling for is respect. Remember, we aren't authorized to say no. If we do, our father is going to go ax-crazy.

To clarify this post, I approve of any measure between my statement and something like Urist's.

A simple, "I have no objections if she doesn't" would suffice.

She was clearly playing along with him in the battery of questions, like when she confirms that his history of killing men would not repel her, so just say "On behalf of my father and Analysse, I approve of this match." She has already made her intentions clear.

We can either say "no" which will probably most likely lead to war in the coming years between our two countries. If we do say "yes" we will most likely put a lot of internal strife within his country for marrying a "outsider" and negotiating for peace. Either way we are going to go to war but by saying "yes" a lot less people will have to die.

edit:We should make is clear to Ritalia we still care deeply about her.

I thought that princes marrying high-ranking nobles of foreign nations was not uncommon historically?

This. He won't have any unrest. Heck, his people will be proud of him for scoring.

.....where the heck did you get THAT? As GWG said, political marriages between foreign nobles were not uncommon, so why would there be internal strife?

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Didn't Mlamlah mention that there were some conflict among the nobles for the prince's stance on peaceful resolution?

Then there may be strife over his stance, but why would there be such over a fairly common practice? (I'd stick in an analogy but am having trouble coming up with non-offensive ones...)

At any rate, we don't care. We need to show the world that we aren't guided by our emotions. After all, "He who cannot dissimulate, can not reign."

More importantly, we need to show our father we can get shiz done and that we're capable. Getting the respect of this guy is only a nice bonus.
