Ask him for a dinner prepared in the local styles, as well as some entertainment for the evening. See if we can gather anything about their culture from these two requests.
+1, though we also need to do a mock "sitting" with our sister. Ask her tough questions, such as the condition of her health, etc.

Probably we should talk to Berick, he seems to know more about these people then we do.

"Actually... yes, there is something you can do for us. Tonight show us the hospitality of your people, give us food as you enjoy it, and customary entertainment. I hope that in the coming days we will learn more about eachother."
The Prince cocks his head curiously and remains silent for a few moments, "This has reason, it will be done."

You leave the audience chamber after exchanging customary goodbyes, Penrod tells your escort of pages some very specific things that you don't yet grasp, but you can tell that he is taking a personal interest in the food you will be eating and the entertainment you will be recieving.

You are all brought into a a small dining hall bathed in the soft light of candles, on one end of the room the embers of a dying fire are coaxed back to life, there are no windows in the room, so these are the only sources of light, and shadows play all around. You are seated at the wooden table in the center of the room, and a wide variety of breads and cheeses are brought in as the first course of the meal, ales and wines too are served, though the pages serving you are careful not to give any one person too much to drink.
The first entertainer is brought in, a beautiful and youthful girl bearing a stringed instrument, one of the pages runs off and returns to proudly bear a simple wooden flute, which you gather he made himself. The girl sings as they both play, and it becomes clear that the focus of the music is the words she is singing, the instruments merely helping to set tone, and perhaps occasionally to represent a character. Each of the songs begin in a lively enough way, establishing some hero or another and the merry adventures they go on, but most seem to end on a tragic note.
One song Barick seems to recognise, and mouths along with some of the words, when you press him he reveals to you it's about a childhood hero of his, this song in particular seems to only be part of a very long and sad tale.

When the meal begins in earnest a number of dishes are provided, most with meat, and there are some you don't actually know the entire contents of. It's a rather exotic affair for you, and you sample more than one dish you arn't sure wether or not you like. The music lulls and dies out for a time to let the party eat, and spirits run high. You even notice Barick joking with Sir Evanson at one point.
When the eating is mostly concluded another entertainer is brought in, and the light almost seems to dim as he enters. The man is barechested, bald and clean-shaven. Once he has everyone's attention he begins to dance, at first it seems strange as there is no music to accompany the dance, but all is made clear soon enough. The man reaches into the fire, and the flame snakes up his arm with frightening speed, drawing frightened gasps until it is clear the man is not being harmed. He continues his dance, but now with writhing flame dancing with him, sometimes mirroring his movements, and sometimes seeming to act of it's own wild volition. You arn't sure exactly how much time has passed by the time the man is finished, but he is literally dripping with sweat once he does, and bows clumsily before leaving for cooler air, legs seeming close to buckling as he wobbles out.

Your picture of the people of Adalbert has always been that they are a people primarily of warfare, and while that may be true it's been proven probable to you that there is more to them than that.
It is night by the time you are brought out of the dining hall, but you find yourself exhausted, and allow yourself to be led into a bedchamber for a night of sleep.

Is there anything you would like to do tomorrow, or just go straight to the sitting?

Have Barick do a little dry run of the sitting beforehand (if he knows anything about it), sans touching if that's involved.

Maybe, have Ritalia with us when Barick does the general rundown. So she get a general idea of the questioning is.

Jolly good. We get to earn his respect.

Some sample questions from Barick would still be nice. Things he knows that no self-respecting father would tolerate, if they're different from the obvious (For example, if in this culture it's not polite to ask what's her shoe size)

This makes a good deal of sense. +1

Raynor Casar, Royal Prince of Analysse, popular claimant on the future crown.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You awake in the morning refreshed, with the clothes you wore last night laid out clean for you. You take advantage of a sponge and washbasin before putting them on, and it feels good to have the dirt and grime of a months travel washed from you.
You are glad to have food brought to you after you wake up. A sparse breakfast of bread and marmalade, with a small piece of cold salted meat. When you mention how little  there is the page who brought you the food laughs and tells you that there will be another breakfast, followed by a large lunch. He has apparently had to explain the same detail to foreigners before.

After you finish eating you find Barick and Elwer waiting outside for you, and you tell Barick you will need his help in preparing Ritalia for the sitting, and explain his role. Barick agrees that it's a good idea, but tells you that as far as Adalbert princes go Penrod has a good reputation. His father went to war against  yours with disastrous results for both sides, and since then Penrod has been an advocate for peace despite pressure from some of the other principalities, once Penrod went to war against another prince to prevent his army from crossing the border to Analysse. His one wife apparently died in childbirth, taking her unborn child with her, and since then he has not sought out another, until now.
You've heard of the reputation of Adalbert nobility in taking multiple wives and concubines, but decide to reserve your judgement for the time being, reasoning that worrying will accomplish nothing.

You meet with Ritalia, who is speaking with Sir Evanson while her handmaiden stands mute nearby. You explain to both of them your plan for a mock sitting, and Ritalia agrees, admitting that she is very nervous and feeling unprepared. Sir Evanson tells you he had been picked to represent your father for the sitting, but that he is willing to back your decision. You attempt to shoo away Ritalia's handmaiden, who protests briefly, before you give her a pointed glare.

Securing a room for privacy, you have Ritalia sit down, and allow Barick to ask a great number and variety of questions. Mostly to do with Ritalia's ability in various fields and areas of study. He asks her if she's an able rider, if she's ever seen a fight, what languages she speaks, what she likes to do with her time, what her favorite legends are and a great number of other mundane seeming questions, all of which she answers quickly and without hesitation. Then Barick switches to questions meant to shock and surprise, questions like if she's seen a men die, and if she would like to, and then the status of her virginity, and what she knows about sex. She seems deeply uncomfortable at this, and some of the questions make you squirm in discomfort too. At the last, Barick launches into a detailed description of a number and variety of lewd and violent acts, clearly aiming to disgust. Ritalia is clearly having a hard time maintaining a polite and dignified appearance, but Barick stops, and tells you that all told she is ready as ready as she can be. Ritalia gives a shuddering sigh of relief, and you take her away to go eat, telling Barick to lag behind a bit for the time being.

You missed the second breakfast, but lunch turns out to be a very large meal, and the hearty food makes up for the grumble in your stomach. You and Ritalia try having an entire conversation in the Adalbert language, and all told you do pretty well, managing to describe the look and taste of the variety of foods you eat. Ritalia eats less than she should, fiddling with her food more than eating it, and you certainly can't blame her for having little appetite.

Soon enough you are summoned to the audience chamber again, bodygaurd, squire and handmaiden all waiting outside. The audience chamber is just as spartan as it was before, little but swords and axes hung up on the walls, each with their own various inscriptions underneath. Penrod is not yet here, and Ritalia is looking at the chair placed in the center of the room with dread.

I don't like this. It's like he's judging her or interrogating her or something.  >:(

It's a bit disconcerting, but trying to stop it would be like trying to stop those crazy Americans from setting off explosions in the sky early every July.
