Playing games, sneaking out of the palace, spending time with sisters

Where you walk you are noticed. You have much more the bearing of a prince than a boy, and others sometimes find themselves mistaken in thinking you are older than you really are. You are very adept at getting the palace servants and attendants to do what you wish of them, generally not even needing much more than a gesture or a look to do the task you need of them. You even find yourself sometimes arbitrating the disputes of the other boys of the palace, as the boys respect you enough to bring to you their problems, and know that what you say will not be contested by anyone else. You become a sort of governor of the palace boys, but are generally too aloof to make friends among them. Instead, you pour your affections into your sisters, spending much of your time with them and even having a say in the raising of the younger girls. It is clear to others that you love your sisters deeply.
The people of the palace have great respect and even love for you, seeing your leadership ability and capacity for great love, you are told that you will one day be a great lord or general, and you hear an occasional joke that you may even be king someday, though you feel such jokes may have an inkling of painful truth behind them.
When not spending time with your sisters or dragged into a semi-involuntary leadership capacity by the palace children you spend a great deal of time reading. You find history in particular to be interestings, and read many accounts of great heroes and kings. You find that most people of greatness suffer a fatal flaw, sometimes one that leads to their fall. You find yourself wondering if your father has such a flaw. A few times you have encountered your brother William in the royal library perusing some of the oldest books, he's delighted by your interest in the scholarly arts and eagerly indulges any questions you have. You learn that your father has him training under a knight for the time being, which surprises you, as your brother does not seem to be very physically fit, when you press him he changes the subject. When asking your sister Ritalia about him she tells you not to worry about it too much, than he and father are just at odds right now, but you feel she is hiding something.

Over time, many of the boys of the palace depart, either to rejoin their families or work on their behalf, but you find it doubtful that they will forget you. Some of the boys however, end up staying at the palace in one capacity or another, as pages to some lord or knight in the city or some such similiar position. A few pages and even a wizards student all but declare fealty to you, telling you that long as it does not interfere with their duties they will help you in whatever way they can. You are impressed by their continued loyalty, and will make note of this for later.

What will you do with the last of your childhood? (Years 8-12)

You may pick three of the below, note that you will not stop doing what you've already done in your childhood. Your interest in reading and caring for your sisters will continue, and you will continue to draw on your leadership ability. From this point on i am also going to be throwing an occassional decision at you to make, until you turn 16 years of age and the game begins in earnest.
-Learn the ways of weapons from knights and palace gaurds.
-Trade with merchants in the city, learn the value of money and the applications of economics.
-Pursue knowledge of magic, difficult as that may be.
-Seek out and spend time with members of your family, extended and immediate.
-Spend time at court, fostering relations with nobility and learning how the game of politics is played.
-Ride and explore the countryside around the city, learning about the common people without sullying your hands with them.
-Get to know the common people without reservation, gain their goodwill and love despite any social repercussions.
-take the time to properly learn the languages and cultures of neighboring countries.
-Learn the arts, music, poetry and painting and all manner of beauty.
-Make contact with the more subtle of the criminal underworld.
 

Thought i would give you some information about the setting, if any requests for information are made i will do my best to comply within the limits of your characters knowledge.

Analysse was once merely a collection of towns and fishing villages ruled by an independant lord. The lordship had little interest in military expansion, and traditionally was mostly just a stop on the routes of coastal merchants. Several hundred years ago this changed, when a local warwizard deposed the lord, declared himself king and turned the country into a military power to be feared. He expanded the country further inland, and extracted tribute from neighboring nations. This dynasty lasted quite some time, until the king your great grandfather slew the last wizard-king and claimed the country in the name of the new royal family, the Casar. The Casar family has turned the country into a primarily naval military power, but lacking the powerful warmagic that died with the old dynasty Analysse has occassionally fallen prey to attack by the neighboring landlocked powers. The latest king your father has went to war several times to protect the borders of the country. Analysse is currently at peace, and has been made wealthy by a dedicated trading fleet.
