Yes!  That's the one, thanks Haspen.  Just had an urge to watch it today, but needed the title.

Does anyone remember the title of the TOS episode with the stars-shaped creatures that flew around the city and controlled people?  It's completely slipped my mind.

This one?

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

That episode was glorious. For those who never experienced it, this is what they sounded like. The "It doesn't even look real" line is one of the most meta of all time.  :P

I've said this before, but, Star Trek: Bridge Commander is spectacular with the Kobayashi Maru mod package.

Anyone play STO? Crypric released an interview today about the upcoming expansion and detailing the new Romulan faction.....the feedback has been.....explosive, to say the least:

http://sto.perfectworld.com/news/?p=852601

So the new, much-awaited Romulan faction is going to actually be the hippy seperatists of New Romulus, led by D'Tan. Players will be forced to ally with either the Federation or the Klingon Empire in the storyline after a short time. Romulan Players do not have a starbase or their own PVP and PVE queues, isntead they are restricted to using the queues and starbases of whichever faction the ally with. So in short, Romulan Players will be contributing resources to federation and klingon fleets, and participating in pvp against romulans of the same faction (since they are both of the Romulan Republic). Cryptic has managed to make the Romulan faction a mockery of itself and honestly, I haven't been as disappointed as I am now in quite some time.

STO was fun (for me) utnil I've hit the point of 'mine dilithium all day or you don't get anythin done' :P

It was fun flying around in cruisers and whatnot, but repetition kills the joy.

Huh, I was just thinking about bringing up STO in this thread :o

I got into it again over Spring Break and so far I'm having a blast. Ground combat is still nothing to write home about, but space combat is crazy fun and actually tactical, especially once you start leveling up your bridge officers and have a huge variety of abilities to work with. I'm currently rolling around in a Science Vessel and I'm thinking of sticking with it when I rank up; strong shields and being able to target enemy subsystems more than makes up for a relative lack of firepower for me. Plus it's got a transparent sphere made of hexagonal shields. How cool is that?

The end game of STO definitely killed it for me, it's all grinding on instances and dilithium after max level.

Isn't that how the end-game of most MMOs is?

At least, that's the impression I get. I've never actually played an MMO to end-game content before...

Not surprising... MMOs are based off of boring you endlessly until you hit the end game.

I usually don't survive the midgame slog.

Not sure if this discussion is still actually active, but I enjoyed ENT for what it was. If you like seeing Archer do combat rolls and punch aliens, you should have no problem with the first 2 seasons. If you want some amazingly deep serial, there's 7 seasons (5 of which are good) of DS9 you should be watching instead.

The problem with trying to make a new TNG-esque show is that it gets compared to TNG, and consequentially falls flat in comparison.
